Holy shit...I can't even imagine buying tickets to a show 13-15 months in advance.

I thought the show was June/July of this year and I got excited then I saw 2019 and this was my facial expression :embarrassed:

I know the turnaround time on onsale to show is getting longer, but honestly who can make plans that far in advance? Especially for shows during the week. I have a hard time planning 6-9 months in advance sometimes. But announcing a tour over a full year before it starts? That's intense. Doesn't show a ton of confidence from the promoter in terms of ticket sales. (For example, Justin Timberlake announced his tour less than 3 months before the first date, but that was probably rooted in knowing it would sell regardless the turnaround). But I feel like 6-9 months is becoming the norm

13-15 months is probably the most extreme ive seen it. Its crazy, this tour shouldve been this year or at least very early next year

I’m pretty sure his last tour went on sale wayyyyyyy in advance too.

Even if the show was next month, every single date on this tour would still be an instant sell-out. It's not like they're banking on him growing into these venues, he's already there, so having this tour be so far away is just pointless lol

Hahah I wouldn't be so sure. He played here just last summer in the same arena and it never got close to selling out, even after they did Groupon and other promotions.

July next year?! Man.... that’s so far haha. Seeing him at ACL this year though so I guess it won’t be so bad

Lol yea I for sure thought this was this June when I saw this. Uh... Yea I'm not going to be committing to this 13 months in advance. Like Elton John announced tour dates in February early this year, but Elton John is allowed to do that because he's Elton John, but this seems odd.

I suppose though that the idea is that they want tour dates announced during the album promotion when the Mendes buzz is at it's highest. If they wait to announce this months after the albums out, and it's not until next summer then it's kind of put in an odd spot. I'm not sure why he doesn't just do the tour this fall though.

Anyone go to the show yet, if so, how is it? Thinking of surprising my SO with tickets for Friday.

I know I'm too late for your question, but I ended up going and being front center and it was incredible (in case anyone else is trying to decide). I didn't even know how bad I wanted to go when the tour first got announced, but ever since the album came out, he's basically all I've been listening to and the show was one of my favorites of recent. It ended up selling nearly all the seats, as well, just took the full year to do so.

I’m volunteering at a show next month and I’m so excited. I haven’t seen Shawn headline in a few years so I’m pumped.
