$71 million opening weekend. Second highest of 2021 behind Black Widow.

Good to hear that it’s doing really well. While it wasn’t quite my thing, I think a sequel with all the origins stuff out of the way will be excellent.

 

In the theater for this now. The fuck is this moon fall trailer…

 

I absolutely loved this - not without it's flaws (Marvel's forced comedic moments strike again) but I thought this was really, really great and definitely worth the watch in the theater. I honestly had convinced myself that I didn't need the theater anymore but damn I really had a blast and didn't realize how much I missed watching movies like that.

This is easily one of my favorite MCU films. Felt so great to watch something outside the normal Avengers build up that had been going on for the last few years. Not that I didn't enjoy those films but this movie felt really fresh since it's like the first thing from Marvel that's really been new in years.

 

I didn't know this movie existed until you mentioned it just now. It's wild to see Roland Emmerich making another disaster movie in 2021, especially one that sounds as batshit insane as this.

 

Just got out of my third showing. My favorite MCU film behind Avengers 1.

Definitely has the best set design of the MCU.

 

I also absolutely loved this, and was truly shocked by how much I did. The first "fight" between Tony Leung and Fala Chen is one of my favorite movie moments of 2021.

 

That scene honestly felt like it was taken from a Hong Kong film, imo. The set, costumes, music, choreography. It was incredibly well done.

I also don’t know who I envy more, Chen for dancing with Leung or Leung for dancing with Chen.

 

This was pretty awesome. Little lull in the middle. Perfectly cast. Happy it seems like Awkwafina will be sticking around

 

This was the actress who played Xialing’s first movie?!

 

Not long out a screening. Really enjoyed that, it just looked amazing. The score was actually my favourite part.

 

Yep. She has been in theater productions but this was her first film role.

 

The fight scenes were fantastic and I had a lot of fun but the script could have used some work. Definitely top 1/3 of marvel.

 

Much like the Black Panther album, this is phenomenal.

 

One of my favorite movies of the year. Also one of my favorite MCU films period.

Also, Tony fucking Leung is in the MCU. Still can't wrap my head around that.

 

Fuck yeah, theatrical exclusivity baby. Just set a 45 day window and let’s all move on.

 

Saw this a second time and I'm still lukewarm on it. Surprised it's getting so much love. Would've enjoyed it much more if it hadn't gone balls out with the fantasy in the last 30 minutes.

 

Great Protector didn't almost lose his dragon soul for all this disrespect.

 

I hope this is the last we see/hear of Kingsley’s character.

 

This was better than I thought it would be. Choreography really saves it from being run of the mill Marvel. Humor wasn’t too distracting, Awkwafina did a fine job between comic relief and the more serious stuff. The spectacle at the end didn’t quite work for me on an emotional level but I’m sure it works for the younger audience.
