^My bad that really rambled on way way longer than I meant lol and @Shrek summed it all up in one sentence Also Debbie absolutely sucks and they clearly don't know what to do with her.
nah that was v well said and is a reasonable stance. i just, personally, feel like they could have given Lipp a better ending without turning the show on it’s head. college is a four year ordeal, maybe he doesn’t get readmitted right away, they could tackle how hard it is for new graduates to find their place in the workforce, that could then exacerbate his personal demons, etc. idk. i just don’t think Lipp graduating needs to signal an end to the struggles of growing up poor and all that.
It's tough with this and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend that you know they'll inevitably fail, it would be interesting seeing debbie's arc all at once
Yea that is true there was more they could've done. I guess they went that route because it'd be kind of hard to have him do the AA storyline but also be doing great in college.
honestly while Debbie sucks, she doesn’t suck beyond the intended level. it’s a good performance and all of that. her shortcomings are pretty in-line with her upbringing and there are enough moments of her genuinely caring about Frannie and trying to better herself. it may be annoying but i was the most annoying overdramatic teenager ever so fair play.
I binged this all at once pretty much earlier on in the year for the first time, I will agree that season 8 seemed to be the weakest so far to me. Still excited to see the new season since I've gone this far!
I thought probably season 6? Was the weakest idk though cause I’ve watched it since it started and don’t really remember what happened each season. I just remember not enjoying it as much a few years ago.
very interesting. i have no idea how they write this in a way that doesn’t sabotage the character short of killing her, which would be just awful. they’ve spent 8 seasons showing us how unflinchingly she loves her siblings. it would be hard to buy her just uprooting herself and moving away with all the southside pride. maybe she just comes to the realization that all of the kids aren’t kids anymore and will be fine, and she gets mentioned here and there as she “calls to check in”. let the theories flowww
i guess i just don’t see how they can write a big family issue anymore because you know Fiona would be there for anything serious or urgent, no matter how far she moves
Wait so is she not going to be in Season 9, or is Season 9 her final season? And I think if it was something like she got some opportunity in a foreign country or something along those lines they could write her off with her siblings "forcing" her to go pretty much. Which having Ford the Irishman I mean it'd be an easy jump.
As for the family messes - they will intentionally not tell her about them so she doesn't rush back home.
I was thinking about this, I think that her post means the show WILL go on. If the show was ending after the next season, she wouldn't have to "announce" her leaving, because that would mean everyone is leaving. She certainly would have talked with the show runners, Showtime and everyone involved to officially leave. If there was ANY intention of ending after this season, it wouldn't have to happen this way
