I just keep waiting for Jimmy-Steve to come back and take her away. Honestly that's like...the only way it doesn't end up with her going to jail for a really long time. They totally blew past the fact that she got arrested for assault just a couple episodes ago, and with her prior jail time, it's really not looking good for her.
the show has proven it is not capable of writing and maintaining a success story for a single character, only sometimes giving happy sendoffs when they leave, it’s my biggest barrier to giving a shit. Kev and V are arguably the exception to that rule and they had to put them on their own island to accomplish it.
I just walked past the actress who plays Kassidi at lunch, I should have asked if she was really murdered on the show or not
Guess I'm glad they didn't do the long goodbyes with every character so I didn't have to sob too much. I wish Fiona and V had a scene though
maybe the cheesiest episode of the series, somehow, but it was nice I suppose. Unfortunately these last couple episodes have showed that the actor who plays Carl isn't a great actor when it comes to the more dramatic scenes, setting up him and Debbie growing up quickly has been kinda forced and hard to watch. Gonna be weird next season, that's for sure
Honestly if you told me they didn't know Emmy was leaving until they already shot the first 12 episodes I would believe it. Her exit was so sudden and the reasoning is pretty weak. Carl's "emotional" scene was really bad. Also why the fuck has nobody in the family visited Ian in jail? That is so weird. All the stuff with Liam was also very weird.
the moment with Frank was nice. i can’t be the only one that was dreading a Jimmy appearance with every long shot of her departure. glad they didn’t go that route. it’s gonna be weird without her, but they’ve done an alright job at positioning Debbie as new head of household, i appreciated some of that stuff. with Frank, Lip, and Debbie as leads i think there’s some potential for good stuff.
i don’t remember a Carl scene being bad, which one are we talking about here? i watched the last three in a row yesterday so i’m kinda mixed up on what happened when
He yells at Debbie after he says he’s going to drop out of school and work at captain rons or whatever.
Shameless was once one of my favorite shows but I haven't had the urge to start this season. How was it?
If they’re going to keep this shoe going the one thing I ask is to just please get Lip into a more fun storyline.
I liked this for Fiona's send off. I wish maybe we had a little longer with her redemption arc to see her actually show remorse to her siblings for how she was behaving, but I enjoyed a lot of the unspoken stuff, watching her slowly realize she just really wasn't needed by them anymore. Her narrative was always that she wanted to get out of there but couldn't because someone had to take care of the family, so this really was the fitting end. That scene with Frank was nice too. I was so scared Jimmy/Steve was going to end up on that plane, but I loved the "it's my first time flying too" moment we got instead.
I haven't watched the past 5 episodes or so and I don't miss it at all, it isn't all bad but also it's time to leave they're running out of plots
FWIW, I think you could watch Season 9 as a final season if you really wanted. There are still unresolved plot lines for sure, but there's also a good amount of closure with Fiona leaving, and you could more or less fill in the blanks on what will happen to everyone else.
it’s inconsistent but this season was better than the last. if i’m calling the last season a 4/10 im calling this one a 6.
i found the hobo games stuff to be just terrible, but the two episodes since then have contained some of the best Frank moments in a couple of seasons imo
