They've all been good to great imo. This current season is the first one I'm not really feeling. I did like last night's episode the most so far though
Kev becoming an ally is the only storyline I really like this season, but how does he not notice V getting harassed at the Alibi
I really enjoyed last season. This season has been okay. The first episode and yesterday’s were both pretty good though.
Because Showtime is already losing The Affair & Homeland. Personally, I think they’ll renew the show for a tenth & final season. I guess this news of this Sunday’s being his final means Ian’s heading to the prison and that’s how they write him off?
Yeah I mean I get it for showtime I guess but fuck they couldn’t just wrap it up instead of having one last season without 2 of the main characters?
Kind of weird for him to keep it under wraps because he wants it to be a surprise, but tells everybody a week before the episode airs haha. Super bummer. The show needs to end
Yeah I agree. I don't know exactly what is happening next week, of course, but I feel like he might have wanted to wait until that episode aired to say anything?? We'll see.....
Yea there’s no way they can go more than one season without Ian or Fiona. Plus it can’t be long until Debbie and Lip want out too. I do think that we’ll see Ian and Fiona st the end of the last season though. Cameron even said “see you again one day?” or something at the end of his post. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a time jump for the last episodes and Ian gets out of prison, or he just gets out early or something. Anyway I did like this weeks episode. I liked Fiona desperately still trying to be the matriarch and just expecting Lip to jump in and help her. And who could blame her when all she’s known her whole life is raising her siblings. The scene at the end with the whole family waiting for Ian and then the two of them talking was really touching. I’m enjoying watching Debbie again which is nice, but I do feel like they wasted some of the potential of her fighting for her rights as a welder. I mean she met Alex and then just dropped it completely. I’m glad they didn’t have that be the whole season, but it’d be nice if she at least followed through.
Well I think that's kind of the point. He really has no idea what he is talking about, and if I remember right, V was actually the one who talked them through a lot of the actual changes that needed to be made. I could see this being a thing that leads to some friction between them.
loved this ep. the ending with Ian’s speech testimony about the Gay Jesus movement and then ending so nonchalantly with “i was off my meds and plead insanity” and then bam credits was glorious hoping his arc wraps up with skipping town and finding Mickey
I think him going off to find Mickey would basically undo the point that he has become a more responsible adult. The whole episode was pretty much Fiona trying to intervene with the point being that she didn’t even need to because in the end Ian did the right thing on his own. If he was gonna skip town he would’ve, but no he’s definitely going to prison now. I do think it’s possible that he runs off with Mickey by the end of the show (I think it’s really likely he ends up back for the final few episodes).
this is all very true but if he runs off to Mickey they never have to explain why no one visits him in prison or anything. also i would imagine prison would be awful, awful, awful on someone with mental health issues like ian. i know he did okay last time but prison prison would likely be hell but i do agree it would defeat the purpose of his whole deciding not to flee at the last second. but i just love Mickey dammit
Yea but they could also just make passing references that they are going to visit him without actually showing it. And hey I’m there with you I want it to happen for the gratification of it, but it doesn’t really make sense from a story perspective.
If anyone hasn't heard the full version of the theme song, it's an enjoyable listen. I always find it crazy to hear the full version of a song after hearing the shortened version for SO long
Bob Saget and Courtney Cox were both great, wish we got more of an emotional sendoff to Ian but Mickey being his cellmate and them having a final love scene to Frank Ocean is perfect curious to see what happens with Fiona
I actually liked how kind of calm Ian’s good bye was, nothing crazy emotional or anything just the family being there for him again. It felt very intentional for them to do that with him and have him be very solid mentally when he left the show. I really like what they’re doing with Fiona, the one who tries so hard to take care of everyone else actually being the only one who really needs help right now. I never even thought that Mickey would be in prison until the second they closed the cell door behind Ian, then I realized of course Mickey is going to be there (but I thought he was already in the cell). But anyway it was so cheap, but it got me and I definitely shed a happy tear, and setting it to Frank Ocean was perfect.
Was that in the porch scene with Lip and Ian? Cus I remember that song feeling familiar but couldn’t tell why.
