I mean not really. Don't want to go into further detail why I don't think Blackthorne is a white savior without spoiling the plot though. It's definitely a lot more complex and nuanced than say The Last Samurai. I'll just say if the show executes it correctly it'll be clear he's not by the end. Just explain to them that Blackthorne is based on an actual guy
