Yes. What is usually categorized as hysteria or "crazy"/insanity in women is usually an logical, rational (and yes, emotional) response to negative stimuli (in other words: how they're treated). Abuse relies on isolating the response and removing the context so the recipient of the abuse appears irrational. Anger is 100% valid, and it was a really big deal for me personally when I realized that myself.
