Yeah I was finally able to catch up last night as well. Pretty good season. I agree with most of the low points others have mentioned and I still don’t know what the goats were for but goat lady Brienne was a high point in the finale
I got the impression from the whole scene that it was intended to further humiliate Milchik. So maybe Cobel would have had to do something unique to her
I can't stop thinking about the "see you at the equator" line. They meet again at the hallway to the door that would turn iMark back into oMark. The imaginary line separating the two versions of Mark. That tells me she maybe intended to meet him there the whole time? Anyway in the words of Dylan, that's poetic as shit
I’ve been speed running the podcast and I can’t tell if the ad reads full of buzzwords they do for some of these business apps are a bit or just very ironic.
Jen Tullock confirming that there was a version of the finale with Devon and Cobel waiting to get Gemma out.
I'm watching empire of the sun for the first time and was not expecting baby ben to pop up. damn he was hot
Not sure how I feel about this season. The show just feels a lot smaller now, and it seems like there was so little fall out from the season one finale. I think the stuff inside the actual severed floor was so interesting last season, and this season had very little of it. There's just a lot of screen time where nothing is actually happening. It all feels a little disjointed overall. Still a lot of good stuff, but I don't know. Hope season 3 is a little tighter, and should probably end there.
I need to keep telling myself this because I get annoyed that it doesn’t explain things right away… but for some people that’s half the fun
I also think the show really got fucked by how long it took season 2 to come over, because I had forgotten most of the first season to the point where I didn’t know who some characters were. And the recap before the first episode wasn’t super helpful
I had the most unhinged viewing of Season 2… Last Friday, I thought to myself it was finally time to start a rewatch of S1, because I had been avoiding spoilers for S2 all the way through to the finale. I ended up unintentionally watching all 9 episodes in one day. Then, the following day, I convinced my wife it was time to start S2 - and we watched the first 4 episodes on Saturday. So in a span of 24 hours, I had watched 13 episodes. Then we watched the remaining episodes the rest of the week, leading into watching the finale on Thursday. My dreams for a week have been absolutely fucked, I am not sure I would recommend this approach!
The more I think about the finale/season the more I like it. A lot of the complaints/criticisms feel like nitpicking or being worried about what happens next season when none of us have any clue what will happen. Or people complaining that what they thought should or would happen didn’t happen. I do think it should only go 1 maybe 2 seasons more though.
That kind of speak will not be tolerated. I want, AT LEAST, 6 more seasons of this. And a spinoff. Give me an entire episode/season of something weird i don't care. More. I think they can realistically do 4 seasons total.
S3 - Innies vs. Outties / Lumon trying to bribe and/or groom Helly to be their next leader / Gemma trying to extract Mark / Helly takes over Lumen ?? S4 - Outties vs. Helly-led Lumen ??
i haven't stopped thinking about those last couple minutes. just a brilliant way to bring things full circle - innie Mark starting the season by running through the halls as an obligation to his outie and ending by running through the halls as an obligation to himself, who he views as equally important as outie Mark
