I think she said it wrong on purpose also. Not sure what her plan is, though. Also thinking that Burt was either not actually severed or had a role similar to Helena in that he's more important than we've been led to believe so far. Irving is also up to something bigger and may be partially reintegrated or something? I don't know what's going on there, but he's aware that his innie was "up to" something and has had flashes of the door which shouldn't be possible given what we know unless he started the reintegration process at some point
I wonder if Irving, being a more seniors employee, had something like a V1 version of the procedure where the wall between isn’t as absolute.
Milchek talking in the mirror was fucked up man. Also obviously Helena has been opps this whole time but this episode made me legit hate her. Especially juxtaposed with Helly’s sadness and tenderness.
Possible, but then it doesn't explain who the hell he's talking to on a payphone in secret and telling about what's going on
I think he worked in some capacity for Lumen where he saw the elevator, whether that was before or after he got severed, and him staying up late painting the same image of the elevator over and over is an intentional smarter version of Mark’s more literal image burning attempt. It seems like dreams are a rudimentary reintegration passage way. I don’t know how that butts up against or informs his reaction to learning more about Burt’s outie. They’ve purposefully given us very very little info about Irving’s outie so we don’t know if outie Irving already is aware of Burt or aware that he has deeper ties to Lumen, etc. Torturro is doing a great job of playing his reactions small and internal, which can read as nervous to us, the way we saw innie Irving as soft-spoken and sensitive around innie Burt, but it can also leave space to retro-actively be interpreted as outie Irving only playing the part of a naive rube and he is actually being discreet and has more control in the situation than we think. He could be the one collecting intel on Burt and tricking Burt in that scene.
Or maybe it does? He could be talking to Natalie's Innie, whom he might be somewhat aware of, or he might be talking to a reporter maybe and seen as a good source since he does retain something. Idk, just spitballin'
I think that was Mr Drummond going through Irving's stuff. I couldn't tell what he was looking for let a long why.
Irving has been doing some kind of research into Lumen. We know he has names of severed employees, but I don’t think we’ve been given the full context of what he has and exactly what he’s doing. The more I think about outtie Irving the more I realize he hasn’t really demonstrated much in any specific way and we’re relying a lot on how we felt about his innie and what his innie’s motivations were. I foresee some kind of twist there.
What if Lumon was being tested on the military (why Irving has all those documents) and prisoners (why Burt mentioned working for them that many years ago and he thought he was going to hell)?
The way I smiled when Fields turned out to be Walter Bishop. Fringe was such a wildly fun show back in the LOST era.
