Look in the basement of your heart. There is a light that just went dark. Hearts burn on! Renacer love.
Pretty sure they never will go that heavy again which is a mega bummer. It’s the equivalent to Senses Fail breaking up for me personally since I’m not going to be into a (by comparison) softer poppier SF. Supposedly, Bayonet is coming back but it’s been THREE YEARS now and absolutely nothing has materialized so... probably not? Lol https://www.facebook.com/194877563882894/posts/1373338692703436/?d=n
Listening to Renacer on vinyl. I think Closure/Rebirth is the best song of this era(eh, maybe Between The Mountains). Perfect time for the band.
I would say Holy Mountain, Closure/Rebirth, The Path, and Between the Mountains and the Sea are the best SF tracks period. I remember Buddy and Dan saying Closure/Rebirth was the sound they wanted to continue on for the next SF record... which is even more reason Thorns let me down. There’s not a single song off Thorns that reached that level of quality IMO. Oh well. Proud vinyl owner as well
I think we’ve alluded to it in the past, but Buddy doing full writing definitely changed the trajectory of the band after Renacer. I still have a soft spot for Thorns, which I’m spinning next after a second spin of Renacer, but the Renacer era was truly it. The pressing for it is so low! I have the purple from Pre-order and the only other was the tour one, right?
I wish that Bayonet EP was on Spotify so I could consume it at work. Renacer is the best SF album IMO, but I love all of their work.
I'm really excited for this, but Pure Noise likes to sit on new music for a really long time before releasing it. I'm guessing this won't be out until next summer.
Especially during this pandemic. I.e. a certain band you and I talked about having an album done for a while now
