I would love if this actually comes to fruition. I don’t think it will, sadly, but I would love for it to.
I could be wrong, but I believe Buddy wants to celebrate the band for 20 years of existence in 2021 by playing full album shows for each record. I'm not sure if he ever really planned to play just a one off show for The Fire specifically, or why he would simply just do The Fire given Waiting Room was more successful and he hasn't done a show for that album yet. To coincide with his discography show(s) or tour or whatever he was planning, he mentioned he was going to repress the discography in a box set. My guess is, again, 2021 would likely be the year for that. If it happens sooner, dope. I finally got my last two Senses Fail LP's so I'm not even sure if I'll end up buying it... but I'm sure I will, lol. I'd love for him to release the updated versions of The Fire prior to the box set, but who knows what will happen there.
Do you remember where you saw him say that? That would be awesome if true since that would mean an announcement should come soon enough and I will ABSOLUTELY snag a copy.
Twitter. I can’t remember if it was his or the SF Twitter I think SF. Sometime in the last year I specifically remember him saying the remasters are done
At the time I didn't notice how bad the production was, but going back to it like 3 years ago I found the production almost unlistenable. Was my favourite SF album so a remaster would be fantastic.
I never understood the hate for the fire’s production. Sure it doesn’t sound amazing but I’ve never skipped a song when it comes on shuffle. With that said, I’d love to hear a remastered version and grab a vinyl. Hopefully they do the box set and album shows. I’d go to shows for LINAWR - PTTFYH
I remember Buddy saying that if they did play the Fire in it's entirety it would be one show in Jersey or Philly.
During the meet and greet for the FDOD tour he said that would be the case with any album shows from now on, as he was depressed from the reception to FDOD on that tour
I've said this before but when I first put the fire in my car stereo, I thought I downladed a shitty rip. I think the fire would definitely benefit from a remaster because the songs are already so great.
I'm biased since I live in Philadelphia, but I'd be ok with this. If they did a tour similar to New Found glory's discography tour, there is no way the shows that include albums between LINAWR-PTTFYH would sell well unless paired with one of the more popular albums. That or people would show up and complain about those albums being played, then Buddy will cut them half-way through the tour or something. The FDOD tour was supposed to include all these songs they never play plus the ep in it's entirety. When I saw them on this tour, they cut out Bastard Son and some of the deep cuts to play can't be saved and calling all cars. All because people were complaining on twitter.
I've been saying this for years, but I doubt it will ever happen. They have so many better songs. Honestly, I'm pretty sick of most songs on SS, especially after the SS tour they did a few years ago. He's probably right, but it's crazy to me that Buddy thinks the venues they play are dictated by two of their songs. Those years during the Renacer/PTTFYH album cycles were my favorites to see them live. So many deep cuts were played (Warpaint, Lifeboats, Fireworks at Dawn, The Fire, random songs off of LIEY) in addition to the newer material.
I'm definitely more of a fan of "heavy" senses fail. Renancer and Pull the Thorns are amazing and my top two SF records. That being said, I'm stoked for the Bayonet album whenever that may come...if ever haha
I knew the fire had weird production early on and it was sometimes hard to listen to but at some point I grew to actually like it. Gives the songs a bit more character haha. Also calling all cars >>>>> can’t be saved. I like the latter fine but it always bored me.
