I will be participating for this album since I have heard it thanks to @JediMasterKevo182 who rec'd it to me in the Music Club. I'll have to relisten before I make my choices though.

So stoked for this bracket!

Stay What You Are- This has easily turned into my favorite song on the record. The music is so good & the lyrics are some of my favorites since probably Warpaint honestly. It also just seems like such an amazing song to see live.

Double Cross- Im in the opposite camp that I really enjoy this for the opener of the record, I love the overall underlying theme of Buddy trying to figure out where he goes now with the band & I feel like there isnt a better representation on the record than this song. Just something about the line "Where is the passion that you used to have, When music was the only thing that you had?"

You Get So Alone- For me, as most songs will, this one comes down to lyrics, & this one just hits me a bit harder, plus I love that one bit in the bridge that kinda has a Weezer vibe to it that I really dig.

Elevator To The Gallows- as a few others has said this is such a SS jam & I really enjoy that sound for sure.

I’m happy that there’s more participation here than for the past couple albums!

The back half of this album has really grown on me a lot (although I do prefer the front half overall). If There Is Light, It Will Find You (the song) is a gem. Stay What You Are has probably moved up to my second favorite on the back half. And those lyrics at the end of Orlando and a Miscarriage kill me.

All in all, this album has definitely been a grower for me!

 

I second being happy we have more participants, for sure.

 

The front and back half both have some awesome songs to them though imo the back half has more of the emotionally driven lyrics. Track 5 On is when shit starts getting personal for buddy on this album.

I have to say I’m also happy with the songs that got byes into round 2

Stay what you are. Gold jacket is remarkably catchy but the lyrics win out here
First breath. Easy squeezy lemon peazy
If there is light. Also easy.
Elevator. Love Year but elevator wins out handily.

 

First Breath, Last Breath is my favorite song on the album. It feels the most REAL to me.
