I just watched my two favorite SF tracks lose at the same time. Don’t you say anything about bland or anything
I love Priest actually, but it seemed like the safe choice but Can't Be Safe....out of all the greatness on this album I don't know how that one is pulling through lol.
Whether a song was a single or not has absolutely no bearing on if I vote for it. I don’t imagine many people in here vote for something strictly because it was a single. I vote for the song that I enjoy more. If it happens to be a single, so be it.
Also...it’s basically a single in name only. It’s not like these songs got a bunch of radio play or anything ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Generally speaking though, most people (not including a lot of us) are more attached to the singles because it's the song they've heard the most.
I guess...but for less mainstream bands (like Senses Fail) I’m not so sure how much of an effect being a single really has ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ For me personally, I’ve always preferred to listen to full albums so I’ve heard most songs on the album roughly the same number of times. Anyway, it’s an interesting topic and I’m not saying you’re right or you’re wrong, just telling you my personal feelings on the matter!
Hahahaha. Goodnight Nurse. Their music does NOT hold up at all, but I always liked the logo thing for their record, so I used it. I figure everyone just kind of forgot that band ever existed (or never knew of them in the first place) so I was safe... you caught me.
Actually this is exactly why it’s weird to me that singles tend to do so well here. I figured even if it’s poppy/accessible enough for everyone to like it, the average chorus user would appreciate the “different-ness” of the other songs enough to bury the singles early in brackets lol that would also support why closers tend to do so well, but alas, both singles and closers tend to succeed
That’s them! Sprung! Yeah I saw them once live. I’m gonna listen today to see also how bad they held up a decade plus later
