how was buddy vocally this time around? he was completely shot last year when they came through with saves the day, he was so derpy sounding it was off-putting instantly, i felt bad because other people noticed as well , i got to see LIEY back when they did the ten year annv run so i didn't mind to much

He sounded decent at riot fest

I was like 2nd row at cobra so I really couldnt hear the vocals well given where the speakers are there

jealous of anyone that was at the cobra lounge set. i really wish artists would consider more opportunities to pull out deep cuts sets… it is so frustrating as a fan to enjoy material from an artist knowing it’ll never be played live for me just because the fanbase collectively hasn’t progressed past the year 2007 lol.

after buddy has made comments about pulling out songs from the forgotten eras in the past online only to show up and he completely ignored the songs he talked up, it’s nice to see he pulled through on this one- and i just hope the fans were into it so he maybe has the confidence to do more of this in the future.

It was insane. The crowd was into all the songs and screaming and singing all the words

It’s not Buddy’s fault that if they did a tour around those records it would draw half as well as a normal or anniversary tour. The only way that kind of tour works is if they are playing much smaller venues. Most of their fanbase actively rejected those records even though they are some of their best material. SF has a fanbase that definitely hasn’t progressed past the first 2 albums for the most part.

this is exactly my best friend. He just knows dreams and let it enfold you And he kinda knows still searching because it’s their biggest album, but he never really got Truly into it. Whereas for me, I enjoy every album and have all of them on physical copy. Plus, I’ve seen them like 15 times where he’s only seen them a handful of times. I like an album tour as much as the next guy. But when a band like this, where I fuck with their whole discography, I rather just hear a set with songs from every album. I feel like that’s worth much more than an album tour.

My friend just texted me a video clip of SF at riot fest playing buried a lie and buddy sounded awful, it’s like he wasn’t even trying.

It’s just embarrassing at this point. Used to be my favorite band, now I’m passing up shows because I don’t want to support Buddy’s awful singing, especially when there’s no other members from Renacer-era or earlier.

My god that is so bad. That’s worse than when he was wasted everyday on Warped and could barely sing. Has me rethinking the tour with Story of the Year/Armor For Sleep but at least those bands are guaranteed to be good live.

I still haven’t pulled the trigger on tickets because of his voice. Not huge into SOTY, but really want to see AFS’s new songs. I like the SF setlist, but it’s still rewarding a shitty performance. Really has me conflicted

Man listened to more of that set. How is he so bad? Like I’m sure in a small club it’ll come off better but holy shit that is garbage. Seems like he can’t pull off any of the notes and everything is just out of synch. Last time I saw them was the Still Searching 10 year in 2017 and they were great, but this is laughable levels of bad.

Their whole career is based off their only 2 good albums, at least be good live lol

This was so bad, I couldn't believe it and had to find another live performance recently. It's confirmed - he's THAT bad live. Poor guy sounds like a dying seal during the beginning of Lady in a Blue Dress.

Replace good with popular. Hot take but LIEY is not even in their top 5 albums.

i was thinking about it a little more and last year in the winter on the STD/SF co-headliner i noticed immediately that he didn't sound good, but in the fall of 2023 i saw them on the annv tour for LINAWR and if i remember correctly he sounded pretty damn good, a lot of those songs were deepcuts and he did a great job. but last year it was noticeably worse.
