Do they just not play stuff from Renacer? I didn’t end up getting a ticket to the OKC show but I guess I don’t mind based on that lol

 

I honestly haven’t listened to anything since Life Is Not A Waiting Room so I’m pumped for that setlist.

 

Must be the age gap with us Brent lol

as someone who has attended countless senses fail shows over the years now… that set is kind of a big fu to me. it makes it easy for me to distinguish whether or not i’m gonna give them my money this time around though so that’s good.

it’s so funny because like… if they would just throw one song in from every album they are ignoring, any singular song from each of them, i’d probably make the drive. hell, i went to their last show in my area just because they threw in Wolves at the Door for the first time in a while. and that was just one song from one of the ignored records!

 

I would enjoy that set since I haven’t seen them in a long time but it desperately needs The Fire.

 

Remember when they retired 187 like a decade ago. Seems like its still on every setlist. Would kill for stuff from The Fire.

 

Buddy is a pretty open guy online and people have asked him why they ignore those albums, he says the majority of their fans just don’t think they are good. They have tried to throw songs from those albums in but the crowd doesn’t move or sing along. But they literally throw any other song pre fire in there and the crowd comes alive. Gotta play what the majority wants.

Maybe I should spin Renacer today. Or anything post-LINAWR because I honestly don't think I've listened to a single song from them since that album. Looking at their discog I don't even remember Renancer, The Fire, Pull the Thorns From Your Heart or Hell is in Your Head (but do remember at least seeing Light's album art).

 

I've never seen them live. Looks like I'm off at 4pm on my local show day so I may swing over for this. Bummed about ignoring The Fire and Renacer, but I'd still have a fun time.

 

It's not good at all. Takes all the personality out of the original versions. But props to getting that music back

 

Sucks that fans of this band have ruined their setlists. Would love to see stuff from LINAWR, Renacer, and even The Fire and PTTFYH, but the fans continue to salivate over SS, LIEY, and FTDOD, most of which blows

 

FTDOD is the only release of theirs I truly enjoy front to back. But I'm also not paying to see them live.

 

Also, what’s with the stupid nu metal medleys they’re wasting a space for on their setlists?

 

It was only good when they did the Empty Promises breakdown in Bite to Break Skin.

but much like how the fans clamor for only the old stuff, they clamor for a stupid medley

 

Band is soft

 

It’s a similar problem every scene band deals with so I get it but idk anybody in my life who likes bands like SF/underoath/Thursday/etc enough to go to their shows but not enough to check out/enjoy their more recent music. I saw armor for sleep a couple months ago and nobody wanted to hear the new stuff - how do you learn about and pay $40 for the tour and not bother to check out a new record??

 

I'll fight you. Renacer is my favourite aswell!
