Was anyone else really let down by Speak The Truth? I thought the first two singles were awesome, but rest of the album fell flat. Had such high hopes.
Makes sense given the state of the band and musical direction Buddy has taken. Chris didn’t even get to lay down on the new record.
0/2 This album definitely won’t be anything I enjoy. Cringe cringe cringe. Gonna go listen to The Fire now.
Fun little tune. I’m liking the first one released a bit more. Still don’t have that “Holy shit, new SF album coming out” feeling that I’ve had for everything since Waiting Room
This song is just a fun little song, but I can't see myself coming back to it. Pretty nice guitar solo in the middle, but the rest is kinda lacking music wise. Liked Buddy's singing voice in this one actually, sounded raspy and like he could break out into a scream at any time (saddly, he didn't). With you on this one. I remember the hype I had leading up to the Fire, Follow Your Bliss and Renacer. I even had a ton of hype leading up to Thrones because little did I know
Fire is 100% their best record for me, just a shame the production is terrible. New Years Eve and Lifeboats are my favourite SF tracks.
I like the message of the song and it sounds like Buddy was going for like an anthem type song, but the lyrics seem a little cheesy at the same time. Those kind of songs normally do though.
Listened a few more times. The verses still kinda lack I think but from the guitar solo through the final chours I think is pretty good.
Ah sweet, I really like all their closers except for Thrones. Is it a mix of heavier and pop punk like Still Searching - The Fire or just more of what the two released songs are?
If THIS is you least favorite song on album I can’t even imagine rest.Again, iam sucker for everything sounding like early 2000’s pop punk so hopefully the full album is like this......2/2 for me and I really love both songs
yup - my favorites so far are the closer, First Breath Last Breath, Elevator To the Gallows, “You Get So Alone At Times That It Just Makes Sense", and Stay What You Are
