Dang I thought some of you would be for more family bonding time off with a newborn. I thought most of you would lean towards democratic socialism. Guess not!
buddy literally just found out that his wife was due in march guys, come on give him the benefit of the doubt /s
"Only option" highlights exactly why this will always be divisive no matter how much any of us does or doesn't respect the other opinion. It wasn't his only option, it was just the only one that offered him a guarantee. The tour could have been cancelled earlier and all four bands could have had the chance to hustle for something else. The uncertainty outweighed the fucking-others-over factor for Senses Fail, and at the end of the day rational people are going to fall on both sides of that calculation.
You can see both sides in this, honestly. I can see how it is bullshit for counterparts and SYSC. It is a very, very weird look that some in here are just so entitled and assuming that there’s some maniacal Ill will and that he is using his unborn child as a scapegoat. Basically:
This is a pretty solid summary. Is it shitty for Counterparts, SYSC, and WCAR? Absolutely and that’s why I see both sides.. but I don’t think Buddy was intentionally trying to fuck anyone over. Could this have been handled better? 100% Should we all act like Buddy is now trash? Not at all. I don’t have any kids but I can imagine the importance of a birth and being their for your partner’s post-partum journey. It’s just a shitty situation but from the sounds of it - Buddy made the right (but still shitty) choice. I just hope WCAR, SYSC, and Counterparts can find a tour to hop on asap.
I refuse to think someone with a shirtless selfie avatar and the name "TyPrevail" is the rational thinker on this.
I didn't pay for a ticket to this tour because the line up wasn't anything special regardless of SF. But I'm team Buddy on this situation, mainly because people are being really fucking mean because he made a personal and business decision. My god he's so evil !
I also think the dude from counterparts should have kept his mouth shut until a official statement came out.
I think there’s a lot of unnecessarily absolute language being used on both sides, but fwiw it appears very obvious that no one is disagreeing with the element of family being a uniquely important part of the situation. this isn’t about shitty vs. good people, just a spectrum of priorities.
