I'm really excited for it, don't get me wrong. My nostalgia meter is through the roof. I'm just scared on whether not it can work with 2017 Senses Fail
Hahah I'm a little bummed. Renacer is the perfect album for this band IMO. It's positive lyrics with heavy energetic jams to back it. I love it! I was so excited for Thorns and musicially the record was just so... underwhelming. So I don't have the highest of expectations for this record. However, I'm stoked Buddy is stoked. I'll give the record a fair chance.
Not sure how unpopular this is but I thought the renacer lyrics were some of his worst. It's one thing to be positive, it's another to try to spin boring line after boring line into a cringeworthy philosophical tone.
I think awkward philosopher buddy came out way more on renacer. Thorns' lyrics aren't particularly unique either but renacer was way more heavy handed on the happiness.
Highly disagree. Everything he said was on point and inspirational IMO. "Fuck what you know. Fuck what you believe. I am the architect of my destiny!" "There is only one truth.. there is a voice in you" "You're not a statue, you're not a stone The blood in your body flows and flows The mountain is high, the valley is deep But your sense of self is what you'll always keep." Just saying.
I personally love both albums for different reasons but closure/rebirth and holy mountain are two of my favorite songs ever. I also blasted canine on the way to take my series 7 exam so I've got a total soft spot for Renacer
"Because we were made to wander Between the mountain and the sea This body is a vessel To house eternally"
Having gone through each song they're not as bad on the whole as I remember. But aside from a few personal favorites it's easily my least favorite album lyrically.
LIEY has to be the worst lyrically though. The best for me are probably are the 4 songs on the Follow Your Bliss EP.
I know, and I'm pretty damn sure he uses only single bass. I drum just like him, not as well, but I admire the lightning fast kicks and ridiculous fills. Also I have to listen over and over for a couple days before I have a Saosin song learned by heart. Conquering the intro to "You're Not Alone" was so hard, I'm a solid drummer but that was tricky.
