oh wow, this might be their best LP

I never listened to this band before but I dig this a bit.

wow what a record

it’s been a wild ride how this band has evolved - really special

 

Yeah this is def a time and place record for me. Feels extremely relevant to my life at the moment.

 

this is dope. I kinda like that it doesn't really shift gears, cause it's p concise.

 

it’s also cool to hear an “upbeat” Self Defense song

 

Good record. I don’t think it can be understated how good of a job Taylor Young did producing this record. “Watcher at the Well” sounds absolutely pristine

The commentary track is cool too

 

Was just gonna say I can't stop listening to Watcher at the Well.

 

Yeah pretty comfortably their best album

 

I think they have settled nicely into this dark The Cure/Depeche Mode indie rock. His vocals are definitely the best they have ever been.

 

the way he does these bizarre vocal melodies has a way of completely recentering a lot of these songs for me. particularly feeling this tonight


also sometimes reminds me of Tim Kinsella's singing on like Owls stuff

 

It has now been 8 months without new music. Far too long.

yeah, i've always meant to but never got around to it. like drug church a lot. idk why I haven't

 

I would recommend the Jamaica/Iceland 7”s and You Are Beneath Me, but all their material is good
