Sounds like this is joining the list of the annoying trend of physical releases being different from digital. The physical releases don't have the Gracie feature

This is probably my least favorite of the three, not sure what the hell is going on with the mixing/production here

 

Yeah, I can’t understand almost anything she’s singing and it’s just kind of a boring song.

 

Parts of it are really breezy and cool, but other parts and production choices just take me out of it

 

This album is really nice, a good amount of variety, everything is enjoyable, nice little release from them.

That being said, I'm not ready for.... the discourse. Nothing here is a huge pop banger, which is totally fine, and the album feels low key in many ways, certain people definitely are going to trash it for not being a chart topper

it's pretty bizarre that I Can't Get Enough is on this, honestly it doesn't fit musically, but I do get that it was a part of their love story so thematically it does make sense. Definitely is going to be a sticking point for the... discourse.

Lastly... "Bluest Flame" is a fucking banger, Cashmere Cat really brings it on this track and his production is amazing, love his stuff..... but... it sounds exactly like Charli XCX, she's gonna get shit for that for sure

oh wow! Looks like co-wrote, but not produced. That's wild! I mean, it's literally Selena singing a Charli song, similar lyrics and all. Would love to hear the background, I do wonder if this is a "songwriting after the fact" credit to be honest, "pink diamond" similarities among others

Haha yeah I did think about that song, but in that case Charli demoed Same Old Love for herself, then shopped it around to others (Rihanna too!), then it ended up with Selena, so that's really Selena singing an actual Charli song. There's definitely a chance that this started as a Charli demo as well, but that would actually surprise me because she hasn't worked with Cashmere Cat in a while, and this is clearly his production top to bottom, and because how similar the lyrics are to other Charli songs, I would be surprised if she did that on purpose.

Anyway, my money is on a Olivia Rodrigo / Taylor Swift deja vu situation rather than a Same Old Love situation, if I were a betting man!!

 

Yeah I’ve heard it haha, we’re doing some work with her. Not a standard Selena song for sure.

 

I don't think I like having this with both artist names in my library. I'll forget it exists.
