I can't believe I'm just now finding out about this. The band should get this on streaming services, or even better, bandcamp.

 

I hope they will eventually and until then I'm grateful for this YouTube upload.

On a tangent, this is making me think of the amount of bsides from that era that pretty much vanished after Purevolume, Myspace, and ap.net's demises. For example, I was recently looking for a Therefore I Am one that used to be an ap.net exclusive, if I recall correctly, and now it's nowhere to be found. I wonder if in this day and age that counts as lost media?

theres not a single miss on teenage fantasy. even pretty snarl is a fucking incredible interlude, that chord progression is transcendent. the drums fucking kill it on that one too. and the transition into star blankets its flawless.

they just dont make albums like that anymore man....

Oh my god I am so happy someone made a thread for this band and people actually seem to care. If anyone here hasn’t checked out Charles’s new band Skateboard Dinosaur I highly recommend. But here’s to hoping Secret & Whisper will have some new stuff out at some point.

 

had no idea about this project, Hands of Gold is insanely good. Weird name though, for the project

 

Seems like a backburner kind of side project for him. Good stuff though.

I realllyyyy wish they had continued with Shreddy Krueger, really enjoyed those two albums.

I’m still waiting for Charles to release his lo-fi solo album and the Skateboard Dinosaur album.

 

I enjoyed the singles that he put out for Skateboard Dinosaur, maybe there wasn't anything left to release? Or better yet maybe those are going to be recycled into a different project.

 

He’s at a few points mentioned that there’s an entire Skateboard Dinosaur album finished he just hasn’t released yet. Though I’m pretty sure there’s only 3-4 more songs from that project that haven’t been released as singles.

 

I messaged the band a month ago asking if they still "had anything cooking" and they responded that "the oven is on".

so take that as you will but I'm stoked!

 

Looky looky! Skateboard Dinosaur album being released 12/27!

 

Hope this means he's getting it out the door so that S&W stuff can be the main priority! Excited for this as well, as weird as the aesthetics of the project are the songs are all quite good.
