how was Rhodes planning to explain how the president got kidnapped by the Russians when he’s fricking War Monger? also, was he still just chilling in his SUV that whole battle?
I definitely thought during the battle, “yeah, they could really use War Machine right now” also, yes, it seems like it.
feel like the overall beats of this show, like Giah coming back and Rhodey being a skrull, are pretty predictable but it's the little moments that really make it great. as someone else said that scene with Priscilla and Fury quoting Raymond Carver and shooting to miss each other was just so fucking good. might be one of the best marvel scenes ever that said the end of this episode was a bummer. if Talos is alive that's the second episode in a row ending in a death fakeout, just feels cheap, and if he's not... idk I'd prefer the former because the Talos/Fury relationship is carrying this show and I'm not sure I'll be as invested without it. kind of a lose-lose lol
I haven't watched past episode 2 but like, more people died? What is this, Game of Thrones? Deaths will lose their impact real quick, as if the first episode's wasn't already entirely unearned
The cast is doing a lot of the heavy lifting for this show. I enjoy a lot of one-on-one scenes where SLJ and the others get to bounce off each other, like Fury/Priscilla or Fury/Rhodes or Fury/Talos, but the story and action are just not resonating with me.
So do Skrulls know when someone else is a Skrull? What I don’t like about Rhodey being a Skrull is that this whole show, he hasn’t acted like the Rhodey we’ve known at all. Just been some sort of dick to Fury for no reason since the start.
This show is trending like most MCU Disney+ shows -- strong start and then peters out at the end. I guess I enjoy it while I'm watching it, but felt mostly indifferent towards this episode. Except Olivia Colman, she's great and criminally underutilized.
nothing that's happened has excited me. I'm generally mostly positive about MCU stuff (aside from Moon Knight which was also pretty boring to me) and Secret Invasion has just been so meh
I found the character dynamics in the first four episodes to be engaging. Some solid acting from Jackson and Mendolson. Losing Talos hurt the show, IMO.
