Checked out Day Player based on the 3EB comparison alone, I dig it but I get much more of a Lucky Boys Confusion/The Maine vibe All in all though this music feels 10 years outdated to me. Reminds me of when I first heard The All American Rejects, which would be great if I were 17 lol
Saw the thread bumped and was surprised at all the praise for this thing. Back when it came out I thought it had like one or two good tracks but had so much cringe that I barely made it through the whole thing. London and Lula On the Beach specifically are, in my opinion, just horrific songs.
I think my favorite few tracks on Colour Blind are better than my favorite few on Vacation (Stubborn Love (which I think is one of the greatest pop punk songs released in the past few years), Goon, and The Day That She Left vs Car Seat Magazine, Day Player, and Something Wonderful) but top to bottom Vacation has songs I enjoy more.
Agreed! Still love this album, really excited to see them next month again I think the only weak songs on here are Misery In You, 40 Over and When I Hang Up
For me, if I was to make a 10 song of their music, there's only one of two from this album I would include. Sabrina Shy Guys Your Best Friend Alberta Slam Best Mistake Trick Airhead Lula On The Beach London
Sabrina Stick On The Ice Shy Guys Best Friend Slam Freak Still Weird Neurotic Lula On The Beach Something Wonderful That was pretty tough. I also would have liked to put Best Mistake and The Let Down in there
Sabrina Shy Guys Your Best Friend Slam Airhead Still Weird London Day Player 40 Over When I Hang Up I don't regard pre-Pure Noise stuff very highly. Decent songs, but nothing to write home about.
Slam Shy Guys Your Best Friend Stubborn Love Goon The Day That She Left London Car Seat Magazine Day Player Something Wonderful For a band with 3 albums and like 2 EPs that was surprisingly hard
Track List: 1. Pleasures 2. Blur 3. Something Wonderful (Alternate Version) 4. 40 Over (Alternate Version) 5. Lula (Alternate Version) 6. Slam/Shy Guys (Alternate Version) 7. Just What I Needed (Cover) 8. Hand In My Pocket (Cover) 9. Closer (Cover) 10. Your Best Friend 11. Alberta 12. The Let Down 13. If I Came Back For You
Hype. That song rules Although we've heard the whole tracklist lol aside from the alternate versions. I think throwing the All In My Head EP on there is kind of a lame move
I feel like a lot of current fans missed that era right when they signed to Pure Noise. I'd like to see those songs get some love again
Definitely recommend hitting their current tour. Aside from Vacation songs they drop in some deep cuts/different renditions/the usual bops/a HOT cover. Most interesting set in my six years of seeing them.
What a moron. Interesting that he's ben out since December 2019. They have to find another vocalist if they want to keep the duo thing going. Unless Ryan sings everything from now on
