Just got home from this too; so good. I was very skeptical from the trailer but I’m so glad to be wrong.
I like how they showed that John Cho was a dad by having all his wardrobe come from Kohl's or JC Penney or one of those places where you buy dorky polos and khaki pants with belts when he said "what's a Tumblr" I lost my mind only issue was that we didn't really get to know who Margot was, which is kinda the point I know it's David's point of view this was a great thriller though
About 25 mins into this I realized “oh shit, this whole film has been seen through the screen so far” (I’m slow). I worried for maybe 30 seconds that it would be distracting, but it was so well done that I soon forgot. Trying to solve the mystery with David was fun and I legit teared up at the end text conversation. Great stuff.
This wasn't quite as great on rewatch (probably due to watching on a computer) but it was still really intense. Echoing what was said about Peter, that was a stellar misdirection
Did not see this coming, but, cool. Glad they're going a completely different cast/plot route instead of doing a "Taken" thing.
I really enjoyed the movie, but I'm not all that interested in a sequel. I'm not sure the screen as a storytelling device will work as well a second time.
Haha yeah I was confused at the two of them returning, and the article saying they’ll star in it but also that it will feature a new set of characters
