I just went through S9 again and ..... didn't hate it as much as I remembered? Honestly I think if they relegated Dave Franco's character to a Todd-like side character I could've seen it being more watchable. He really ruins it for me lol
oh yeah, in no way do they need to continue any of what happened in S9 imo. I just had this memory of viscerally hating it and was surprised that I didn't feel that way this time lol
S9 really wasn’t that bad it just wasn’t the OG cast and setting and people hated that at the time lol I will say I found the main character not to be as interesting to follow as JD was. But been a long time since I watched. speaking of which, is Denise “Jo” gonna be in this revival? She was a great character lol
I thought the worst decision for s9 was having JD around for almost half the season. I got my great goodbye in s8, I was ready for the new characters and then they got overshadowed to start the first chunk of the show.
This is good so far, but much like the later seasons and then switch to ABC at the time, the lighting and visuals just throw me off a little bit lol. I liked the way it looked when it wasn't so well lit haha
it's definitely weird having JD still have daydreams etc at 50 but Joel Kim Booster as JD's nemesis and Vanessa Bayer as Cox's is perfect
yyyyeah episode 1 was pretty perfect to me now that it's over lol. Just hate the way it's shot. Been a while since I've watched OG episodes, but did they ever do the shaking shoulder camera shot like just did in the parking lot dramatic part like that? Haattttted that, felt very not Scrubs. but the story and jokes all worked for me
Hulu needs to get with the fucking program and not make me wait until 3 AM to watch this without torrenting it
Ep 1 was pretty good, felt a lot like the original show in many ways. Not quite as good, but to be expected. The new interns suck. Lukewarm acting and weird anticlimactic feeling scene when they find the patient dead in her car at the end. The actor of the intern who refused to check on her was not convincing me as feeling bad, and it all just felt like a two second after thought. There was very little emotional weight to it because they rushed the husband in and out as well as the doctors' reactions.
Yeah. Meh. I think the original cast still has it. The interns suck and are dragging it down. But I'm happy when the original cast is on screen. Strangely very little Carla and a little bummed that Dr. Cox isn't in episode 2
No. I loved both episodes, it feels great to have new episodes of this show. I actually liked some of the interns and the dynamic they bring to the show although I definitely felt some of the complaints to do with their acting and that scene at the end of episode one definitely felt a little forced but it was serviceable as a way to get JD to take the job I guess.
Thought the first episode was very good! Love seeing the original cast back. Dashana is the most interesting of the new interns because the scared/mean/gen Z tropes are not interesting whatsoever. I can't watch episode 2 yet but I will soon!
The interns have always been a weak point of the show, but this batch isn’t terrible. Not a ton of personality there yet, but give it time. Episode 1 was very good and I feel lighter for it.
Episode 2 and I’m feeling the interns and new staff. Especially Vanessa Bayer. The show actually feels like Scrubs!
A couple of lines in each episode literally had me guffaw at the tv screen and that's all I can ask for from this show lol. I can't rememebr them right now off the top of my head but some good/funny lines
I noticed Dr. Cox's whistle wasn't quite as ear piercing as it used to be lol wonder if that was a conscious choice due to his character being burnt out or if he's lost it a bit with age
