This is the definition of "fine". Nothing special at all. Too much universe building prioritized over a Scooby movie. The portrayal of Captain Caveman was a little perplexing, though I found his bit funny. Definitely not something I would recommend going out of your way to watch.

Why is this a sentence that exists, lol, my gosh.

    Hollywood filmmaking is broken.

Some of the stuff just felt hamfisted in there. The gang felt like they didn't even need to be in the movie.

Hanna-Barbera extended universe is the peak form of Hollywood tapping into a trend after its dead and buried. even more so than Universal monsters.

the audience is really gonna lose it when Magilla Gorilla shows up to recruit Huckleberry Hound at the end of Hong Kong Phooey

I was thinking about renting this on Apple TV but this thread and the reviews make me think I’ll just keep my $15

To be fair, the universal monsters were the first big cinematic universe back in the 30s/40s so for them to hop back on the wagon is okay, but I do not care for a Hanna-Barbera universe. I just wanted a good scooby doo film.

Downloaded this, but I haven't watched it yet. Knowing now that it's basically just a set-up for yet another shared universe I couldn't care less about, my interest has waned incredibly

i mean, i love Will Forte. his casting got me on board with this initially.

every bit ive heard of him sounds terrible

Tried to remember why I initially had a vague interest in this, then remembered:

Did this end up being falsely reported, or did she get replaced or something? 'Cause there's a handful of credited writers, none of 'em her.
