Scary Kids Scaring Kids Announce New Album

I hate to say it, but that new single didn't do anything for me and sounded really, really bland compared to their old material. Here's to hoping there are a few gems in there.

 

The current era of everyone feeling like they need to feature someone else has become nauseating.

 

someone correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure each track has a different vocalist cause their original singer passed away.

 

Didn’t know that, if true then I feel like an ass. Def wrong thread to say it but it’s still how I feel about the features everyone tries to have on their songs these days. Good for SKSK for making it work, though

 

Yeah, they don't have a singer so hence all of the features. I've wanted new music from these guys for far too long and I'm thrilled for new tunes! I think an album of featured singers on each track is pretty rad tbh.

 

Woah, I had no idea. And it was over 7 years ago. So it sounds like they just have different singers when they play live. Interesting.

Maybe I'm weird, but I actually enjoyed this track. Especially the chorus. I think LiL Lotus fits well with the song here.

 

Waitin for that Cove Reber track.

Yeah we were saying in the SKSK thread that this whole thing seems weird. There are only 2 original members and it feels like they're just using the name because of it's recognition.

I saw Cove front them at Furnace Fest…he was pretty great fronting them. I am not blown away by this track but it will be cool to hear how this collection of songs all sound together. I think this is a better that putting a new single vocalist in Tyson’s place.

 

I agree I think it acknowledges he was a core member of the band but allows them continue to create new music. I'm here for it!

 

Based on this single, i may pass on this experiment.

Was wondering how they'd do the vocals, I think the guest spots are cooler than just hiring a new singer. Interested to see how/if they'll tour!

 

Interesting that Kurt Travis has been a touring frontman for them recently (replacing Craig Mabbit), but neither of them have a song on this.

No, he was just touring with them.

 

I thought so as well, but I guess it was only for their reunion tour. Kurt Travis is singing for them right now so Cove doesn't have to pull double shifts.

 

I haven't ever gotten into this band, but I definitely dig this. I don't really have any expectations of what I want from them, so if the whole album is this vibe I think I'll end up really enjoying it.

I would've gone to the tour if Craig Mabbitt didn't get covid and have to drop off the tour. He is the PERFECT replacement for SKSK.

I want my early 2000's Arizona post-hardcore scene back and I want it now. sksk, greeley estates, blessthefall, the bled, verusus the mirror, a change of pace, etc. They had it all.
