There were two posts above yours with BLANK I don’t care. You could have added on. It totally okay you didn’t of course haha. But I wanted to see the trend continue.
I have been a loose "fan" of Say Anything enough to have listened to every album/output at least once. "Psyche" came out in April and popped up on my "Get Up" workout playlist and I dug it. Never did any digging into the lyrics at all. Today it pops back into my "New Music" playlist even though I've had it for a while. I figured I'd try and find the Say Anything thread and BOY did I not expect to lose an hour of my afternoon going back 10+ pages and reading about what's been going on. Wow. Sucks that this song is so good from an instrumental and delivery perspective, but wow the lyrics are just "why?" I'll definitely give a new album a listen, but I truly had no idea all of that stuff was going on. The last I had heard was that the band was breaking up and then I get this new song. Very conflicted feelings.
Aren't these albums on streaming through the "All My Friends" compilation release? I think I am confused what is being communicated here.
I saw something on a vinyl website that I visit where this is being released on vinyl. Some exclusive vinyl treatment or something like that Amazon pre-order: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C9X69WFS/?tag=absolutepunk-20
A re-recording, “(Max’s Version),” would be a lot more interesting to me. I know things surrounding this band have been a mess lately but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t interested in seeing what the new lineup can do.
Does anyone find it interesting that all this stuff has come out about Max and the family yet people seem to be supporting them and going to the shows? Like, I know there's a whole thing about people supporting artists who are shitty people and all that, and this isn't really about that directly, but I'm more so curious if all the stuff with Max, the family, the kids, etc. is known outside of forums like here and Reddit or if it's not that widely known.
I don’t think it’s known outside of small sections of the Internet. Most people probably don’t even know Say Anything is still a band.
Yeah there's no way to be aware of this stuff unless someone points you in the right direction and if it wasn't for this forum, I wouldn't know about it as well as most of what's brought up the accountability threads too.
It's not like Say Anything is a huge band or Max is some widely known prolific musician that branches outside of the scene so most of that stuff goes unknown.
