I know the new Max album is out today but everyone should listen to the new Sundressed/YMAWEK single instead
Wow... I haven't kept up with Max or Sherri in a very long time. Listening to his 2 bandcamp rants and doing more of a deep dive in the last 24 hours reading about the state of their mental health and family has been heartbreaking. My heart goes out to all of them. I would hardly call 3 shows on the east coast and 3 shows on the west coast a "tour". Last I really even gave Max a listen was with Hebrews. I thought Sherri and him really figured things out, but it sounds like they're really struggling. I feel really bad for those poor kids. CPS potentially stepping in could be a benefit, but in my experience, it doesn't really change much. oof... Wasn't one of the Duprees engaged to Jesse Lacy and married to Adam Lazara? Do i have that right? Was it Sherri? I'm confused on that part. EDIT: YIKES, I forgot about this crazy drama triangle that happened with these Dupree girls. Also forgot Eisley were all siblings. Sherri was engaged to Jesse, then married to Chad Gilbert from Feb - Dec '07 (he probably hooked up with Hayley during that time) and then met Max and the rest is history. Chauntelle was the Dupree engaged to Lazzara and he quickly married someone else a few months later. I know this is drama and not really related to the current issues at hand, but i want to write this out for my own sake.
All weird Max stuff aside…. Most of the new album is a skip for me, just too out there, HOWEVER “Mime” is a top tier max song and y’all should check that one out at the very least
I'm not sure if I'll be revisiting it but the album is much, much better than I expected it to be any way.
It's really a shame that Max and Sherri have done all of this to themselves because the new album is actually kinda amazing, but it's completely overshadowed by the person he is. It's also baffling that for all the talk of how music is how they will make money and support their family, he didn't actually put in the work to properly promote his new album... at all. The streaming numbers on this are abysmal.
Definitely agree, I've listened through twice and I'd probably be pretty excited about it, but I can't look past the cloud over them anymore. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt through the manifesto business and the kickstarter but it's just become impossible now.
Obviously she didn't give details, but I don't really like the insinuation that an "internet troll" is the reason for legal issues...
Oof. (I'm an old person who thinks I've used that word for the first and last time to describe anything, but that it's perfectly appropriate.) I can't comment but just as an aside in general circumstances, as a teacher who has seen many CPS related incidents, it has to be severely credible for there to be any kinds of consequences. If they just gave one reason, it'd be more understandable than two lol. They all need (maybe 6 years ago) a publicist or friend with common sense to proofread their ideas and public statements, sheesh.
I agree, this is just too much that's been building for too long and it's just a lot (especially considering that none of us should even know a lot of this). I will say, slightly playing devil's advocate for her statement, there does seem to be a pretty unsavory section of redditors that have been getting involved in a lot of this so I can see there being some bits of the internet trolls playing a part (similar to what people did to Jordan Buckley of ETID and got CPS called on him and his wife). I'm sure there were friends/family playing a part in that too out of concern for the children, which from what little I've seen is warranted
"The baby on the movie's international poster is Max Bemis, lead singer of the punk rock group Say Anything. His father designed the poster and used him as a model." How... how did I not know this.
Well the child rearing years were certainly ahead for Max. (Just a silly joke, only good vibes for their family.)
No, it was a Canadian band Elko. They already said they wouldn't be returning they ended up still coming to the US already during the period since it was too late for them to cancel and get refunded sounded like
