I'll forever defend I Don't Think It Is ... but yeah IARB and Defense are the only two records that actually matter to me
Yeah, this livestream is kind of hard to watch but not because of his singing but mostly for the guitar chords being off-tempo/wrong?
I read a lot of positive feedback about the stream, but from what I’m seeing now the timing seems way off on like every song (the bits I saw as I scrubbed through at least). It’s weird that his online acoustic output lately has been so mixed, because I saw him put on a killer acoustic show on his solo tour last year. He was 110% on when I saw him in Philly. Did some solo songs, did some with Sherri, and a couple with the singer from Museum Mouth. Everything was perfect that night. This, not so much.
It's true that Coby was the only other person who played on IARB but if you look at it as a whole - it's pretty much Max. I'm pretty sure Max wrote almost everything too plus Coby left close to a decade prior to Max throwing in the towel. I just don't think it's that douchey of a comment in retrospect.
I tried to get through Belt and Yellow Cat but turned it off because the playing was just rough. Vocals seemed pretty typical for him so that wasn’t really the problem for me. I definitely get that some of the songs are hard to translate to just acoustic and he mentioned that a couple times from the parts I watched, but yeah...just feel like the playing could have been a lot better since the focus was purely on him
Bemis and Tom Delonge are two of the most hated people on Chorus. Though I don’t really care for Bemis. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Tom though.
Tom is way less hated. People clown on Tom, but it feels more like a funny hatred than a pissed off offended hatred of Max. Plus, you see the Max anger in his own thread, you never see anything bad about Tom in the AvA thread
He's had some seriously talented musicians with him. The guy from Moneen, Kenny from the Starting Line, The Turners. So like, yea it's his band but he should just mention the fact that well he's had some insanely talented musicians with him which is something he'd agree with. I just think he's just a partially misunderstood guy. But I also think anyone who has objectively followed his band or his twitter for the past few years would find some of his behavior troublesome. While even he admits it, you still kind of have to take his word with a grain of salt. You also got to take into consideration that Bipolar is a real thing and I feel like people should back off the judgement on him even if it's natural to express disappointment. Live he's always kicked ass when I see him.
I mean, do a bunch of questionable and shitty things and what do you expect? An outcry of love and support?
I just think that was a pretty harmless statement and it's not the first time I've seen people just take shots for no apparent reason. I can definitely acknowledge that he's said questionable things and that there are legitimate complaints especially with the Kickstarter / song shop but bombing on him for that statement to me seems like a stretch
I truly believe his heart is in the right place and he's a good person, so I'm personally forgiving of some of his more flawed behavior or whatever we're calling it. Not saying anyone else has to feel that way . That's just my take.
You must really hate Say Anything if you truly believe Kenny being a tour member for under a year is the best part about the entire band lol I mean I love Kenny but come on...
kenny - Kenny from Starting Line moneenguys - Kenny from Moneen Kenny from Moneen was just out of this world as a performer.
Moneen Kenny will always be my favorite of the touring band for the time he snuck my friend in who didn’t bring her ID not realizing it was a 17+ show We were standing outside the venue figuring out what to do and she had some tears flowing and he came up and was like woah guys what’s wrong and was so nice about it. And plus he was always such a blast to watch on stage. Amazing energy
