Did you see that video of him where he was really drunk on the "Where's The Band?" tour or whatever and he yelled at the crowd for talking over their acoustic set and then proceeded to have the crowd help him sing Freakish with him while twirling around in a cape? Really changed my perspective on him.

Something definitely isn’t right and I hope that he gets to his best self.

  3. Saw them lastnight and I wanted to ask him what’s up with STD but I didn’t stick around long enough so I didn’t see him.

And it was "Three Miles Down" not "Freakish". Sorry about that.

I just found an article about a really weird show Saves The Day did and how Chris has been acting strange lately. Despite the fact the guy said "A Drag In D Flat" was off of "Through Being Cool", which it wasn't, this all seems to coincide with some unsettling stuff I've heard about Chris lately.

I grew up loving Saves The Day. They were my first big favorite band I followed and I just hope Chris is alright.

The irony of speculating on Chris's mental health in a Say Anything thread..........

Holy...fuck...Chris was like hugely influential in my youth and his music helped me get through a lot of shit. I can't even watch that full clip because it's so upsetting to see him like this. I hope he's getting help.

Been going back through the band's discography a lot lately. Think Hebrews might've snuck up to a second place position (behind the obvious) for me. Also, love the bonus tracks for Self-Titled. Honestly, more than half the album tracks.

    Not newbie, I think Supporter

It really aggravates me that artists play 1,000+ shows and they have one break down and that's all anyone focuses on. Same has been done to Max. Can we please be respectful of whatever Conley's going through and return this thread to talking about Say Anything music? We all come home certain days and have a breakdown or two nobody sees. These guys were playing every night. Cut them some slack. Also making up reasons like drugs/mental illness for an eccentric twitter account that which you have no personal knowledge of is just irresponsible/petty. We just don't know, just wish the best for him.

I've seen Saves The Day 4 times and Say Anything 5 times. Every time both bands ruled. I didn't like Saves the Day until I saw them live well a long time ago, since then I'm all about them.

Agreed, Hebrews rules. Can't wait for a new song!

I agree. When you think about what these artists go through, you realise that it must be fucking daunting to keep it together all the time and everyone can slip up. It hasn't changed my opinion of anything.

We need to get the thread back on track. What's everyone's go-to bands/songs that you think sounds like Say Anything/Max Bemis? I always go to You, Me & Everyone We Know. Such a good progression from IDOTG to Party For The Grown...

Max sings on I can get back up now. I remember meeting Ben a while back and he said Max was going to release a cover of livin the dream but I guess it never happened. It's a shame they never came back they were a good band and I remember hearing they were working on an album before they called it quits

I saw YM&EWK on their last tour with Head North, and Weatherbox.

It was one of my fav shows ever. Ben was super approachable, and energetic too.

It's a shame what happened to YM&EWK, they were fantastic. I'm hoping for a comeback soon.

    Weatherbox, I fucking miss them.
