It's here: I Don’t Think They Do w/ Max Bemis – Aaron Mook – Medium PLEASE feel free to share anywhere and everywhere you see fit. This is the first time I'm really stepping out and doing my own thing, and it's the first in a series of interviews, so hopefully some of you find the discussion here interesting
Great article, thanks so much for posting it. Really good questions. I don't care what anyone says, Max can do almost no wrong in my book. He is one of the few artists that I truly feel cares about his fans. He's honest and how can you fault someone over that, regardless if you agree with them or not. Say Anything music has had and continues to have such a pivotal role in my life. Really looking forward to a new album and sounds like a tour.
I've seen them a bunch of times on tour but never seen them play Colorblind. I would lose my shit if they played that on tour.
"I’m actually kind of critical of bands who pretend not to care, when they so obviously do. I mean, there are bands like Radiohead that I can honestly say probably don’t care about what their fans think and really don’t care about critical acclaim. But then there are bands that I won’t name that I think try to give off that vibe, but thrive off of the community and what they think, or some sense of mystique or something like that, so I try to avoid that." *COUGH*brandnew*COUGH*
That was a great read. Thanks Aaron! Glad you got to have that late phone call with Max. YEEESSSSSS to that definitely-going-to-be-an-IDOTG greatest hits tour. I can't imagine what else he would be doing if it's not just a normal tour. Perma tour doesn't make sense until a new record is out, and didn't he flat out say he would do something for this album at some point. My only concern is that Riot Fest will replace the actual Chicago date, but then that's what Milwaukee and/or aftershows are for.
That was a great interview, answered a lot of questions I did not even know were on my mind. All great questions & no filler, looking forward to seeing more
good interview, i enjoyed getting some perspective on stuff picking through being cool over in reverie or stay what you are though?? wild stuff
Awesome interview! Now I just need to anxiously wait for the (what I am assuming is the IDOTG anniversary) tour to be announced.
I'm really investing my heart and soul into this project and this was a dream interview like a decade in the making (when I first heard Say Anything) so thank you all for reading and being so sweet and taking this ride with me
in baltimore s/t and disc 1 is in a 400 cap room while the other two are in a 1500 cap room, lol. might do the s/t night
Gonna try to at least do night 1. Would love to see S/T in full. It does annoy me that IDOTG is split between the two dates
