Shiksa is a great song lyrically. Pretty much perfectly encapsulates the feeling of new love. I love that song so much, I can think of many worse SA songs from a lyrical perspective.
I think Hangover Song is a really cool interlude, I love Anthony's strained emotional vocals, and I love the buildup as it goes
Yeah Hangover is great. I think Sorry Dudes is the only song I don't love on that track list and that's mainly just my hate for Chris Conley's voice.
I mean, I don't really like the album overall as it is, and even with my perfect track list I would still give it like.. 6/10 haha.
Honestly from IDOTG I'd probably only cut "Retarded In Love," "Died A Jew," and maybe "Vexed." And even "Died A Jew" I really like musically. I kinda just love that album.
I think self-titled is mostly an underrated album for the most part, even though it's as uneven as most of the bands material is after IARB. I actually really enjoy more than half of it, for the most part I really like this era of the band. Great: Fed To Death Mara and Me Property Good: Hate Everyone Do Better Less Cute She Won't Follow You Cemetary Ahh... Men OK: Eloise Crush'd Death For My Birthday Young Dumb and Stung
The Apple Music Say Anything Essentials playlist is severely lacking at eight tracks and nothing after Anarchy, My Dear
Self-Titled is great. I sincerely do enjoy every song on that thing and go so far as to say I outright love most of them. Now I really feel like I'm repeating myself haha
Self-Titled has some of my favorite guitar work of that era. I was late to the Say Anything game when it came out and I remember seeing them open for Angels & Airwaves being blown away at how great those songs sounded live.
Self titled has probably aged the worst for me in terms of how much I used to love it and how much I like it now.
S/T ages like a fine wine for me. Only songs I don't particularly care for are Hate Everyone, and Young Dumb and Stung
Hate Everyone's one of the few I still love. That, Cemetery, Ahh.. Men, Eloise and Less Cute are pretty much the only songs I care about on there anymore.
