I don’t think there is a song that is more grating and annoying to me in the SA catalogue than “Fired” off OA. I want some poor fan to come forward and show that this was their shitty song shop song verbatim.
They posted a picture yesterday of the hospital that apparently he stayed at in Texas when he was originally diagnosed. I assumed that was the album art. Not this image above
Man this album art and marketing is just kind of gross. Comes off as disingenuous and almost a mockery of mental health given the path he has been on for awhile now. Very troubling.
I’m currently reading Where Are Your Boys Tonight and just finished the chapter about Is A Real Boy. I had no idea that he was hospitalized so many times during that album’s cycle.
I don’t need new say anything in 2024 I’d rather just have a fully re-recorded rarities album with modern production value
I don't think the album title/artwork is mocking mental health given his personal experiences, but I am staying far away from talking about this band and record right now.
I just hope him doing this band again ends the grifting shit. Also side note, the building in the album art is not the hospital in Texas. It's a building in Pressmen's Home, Tenessee. According to Wikipedia a "non-abandoned ghost town." Found a picture of the exact building with a quick Google search.
He was an absolute mess during that time. There were at least two canceled tours before he finally got treatment.
All good! There are so many valid criticisms of Max so I just didn't want people spreading shit that wasn't. I'm really into abandoned places so I recognized the building, but was reminded of the name on Reddit.
I cannot believe I live in a world where Max and Brian are on a record together and I just... don't care
