Crush’d is one of my favorites on self-titled lol. I would never call it their best but it has some bangers.
My wife was the biggest Say Anything fan I knew from Baseball until In Defense of the Genre. Then the self-titled came out and immediately ended her interest in the band. She didn’t like that one or almost anything since, except some of Oliver Appropriate. I took her to see Max solo in 2019, and she still had a great time. She just dislikes most of the discography at this point. Which seems to be common in this thread, haha.
Everything up through self titled is great, Anarchy My Dear was lackluster with a few absolute bangers on it, and everything from Hebrews-on is pretty unlistenable.
It's such a sad reminder that this band put out some good content and it will forever be tainted because the band leader is a douche
Is a real boy is great, there’s a solid album somewhere within the defense of the genre. Everything else doo doo poo poo crap.
I like at least something on everything, I think the worst is I don't think it is and if we're counting two tongues 2nd album is horrid
IARB - great IDOFG - about an albums worth of good SA + AMD - one solid album between the two of them H - interesting, kinda good IDTII - Horrendous OA - Better than it should be, but just became hard to listen to the band at all so it's pretty jaded
I probably would feel similar in 2023, I haven't listened to the band in quite some time, but back in the day I would go bat for multiple songs off each
