I like to imagine Max did like 7 takes and Sherri was like 'eh' the first 6 times then after the last take Max accepted 'pretty good'
Favorite off each Woe An Insult to the Dead Eloise Overbiter (I honestly don’t remember my fave from Hebrews, I rarely listen to it) Rum
IARB IDOTG ST Hebrews The rest This is the correct order. Can't even fathom how shit someone's taste has to be to put anarchy above Hebrews
Thank you for bestowing your correct opinion upon us. Hebrews is one of the worst sounding albums I’ve ever heard.
John McClane through Hebrews is good / exactly what I hope for with Say Anything. A sonic nightmare but lyrically some of Max’s best and most honest stuff. I don’t think I listened to IDTII a single time after the week it came out.
Fwiw Hebrews seems like a fan favorite and the opposite for people who don't fuck with the last few records
Signal the Rifleman All Choked Up Yellow Cat Slash Red Cat or Vector That Is Why or Spay me Death for My Birthday The Stephen Hawking My Greatest Fear or John Mcclane #Blessed or Wiremom
I must not have a producers ear, as I still love a lot of the songwriting and execution on IDTII and almost none of it from Hebrews Wonder what Kanye would’ve done with Rum
Just because Max mentioned Kanye inspiring him for IDTII. I'm not really wanting to speak about Kanye further though haha
Some of the songs on Hebrews are not that bad but the instrumentals sound wack all over imo. Sounds like he made them on fruity loops.
i would never argue with people who hate hebrews bc it sounds like shit, that's pretty apparent and an extremely fair criticism, another obstacle that max placed in the way of accessing one of his records. i really love the first half of hebrews, especially the title track, and "nibble nibble" mostly bc it was the first time in a while that max's songwriting was really reaching me. lost that all over again with i don't think that it is or whatever lol
the only reason I place IDTII over Hebrews is because I have to. Truth be told, everything after the first three records is really bad imo
Did a deep dive on the SA discography this weekend and it is incredibly apparent that s/t is the only one that hasn’t aged terribly That being said updated ranking: s/t > Hebrews > IARB > IDOTG > Anarchy >>>>>>> IDTII
