I care. Haven’t been able to listen to them since all that stuff came out. I can say for sure people would still support a brand new tour.
Yes mean more regarding the artists supporting them. I believe there was another tour recently with the anniversary of Through Being Cool?
I know they had a couple of shows doing Stay What You Are. Max Bemis and Chris Conley both seem to be having downward spirals. I was a big fan of both, but man it’s hard to support them. Chris has had a couple of melt downs at live shows over the years.
There are plenty who say this stuff he's putting it out is "good" and like, if it wasn't "Max" you'd think it was absolute trash. It's unlistenable and I, a non-professional musician, could easily open up Audacity and mix something better from that song.
If Coby is back and Alex Kent for that matter, I'd love to see new music and a tour. People like Coby who he grew up with will keep Max in check hopefully and maybe we'll get music more in the vein of the first half of their career as opposed to the second half.
Yeah that’s kind of nuts. That’s the same price he used to charge to actually write and record you a song.
The Say Anything reddit at this point is a support group for people that have been scammed by the Bemises. They’re despicable grifters.
They're scum. They are so psyched they got famous after being stuck at the weird kids table during middle school and high school they're just using their fans and kids for money.
I just feel sad when I hear or read this band name. I LOVED In Defense of the Genre and Self-titled. A lot of good memories with those albums. Such shame what’s happened with them and the fans over years since. Oof.
Yeah whenever this thread is bumped now I just brace for more shameful news to read about. My favorite band of my youth is completely tarnished.
...is a real boy still remains an important album to me, but I got Max to hand write lyrics on my vinyl and he didn't charge me for that. I had plans to get "This is something I have to do for myself" tattooed on me in Max's handwriting, but I never got around to it. Side note, people selling handwritten lyrics always weirded me out, especially at the cost. Most of the artist that sell them as well are pretty accessible at their shows too.
This reminds me of a similar story I saw someone else share on their subreddit. I was baffled reading that.
i’m gonna be so disappointed when say anything continues to be booked on festivals and plays sizable venues this summer and moving forward. i don’t even see major discourse regarding the problematic behavior and exploitation those two have exhibited the better part of the past decade.
