I think the run from 17 Coked Up Speeding to Goshua is pretty great. I also really love the Bret Easton Ellis School. The rest is just kind of there for me, I honestly can't really remember most of them without listening. And I strongly dislike Give a Damn. Hebrews is absolutely fantastic. I wholly love that album. It's a top 3 for me. Anarchy didn't amaze me when I heard it, but I liked it, and I still like it now. Don't go back to it a ton, but when I do I always enjoy it. I also love Oliver Appropriate. Listened to it quite a bit last year. It makes me feel a way. I enjoy the stripped back approach it has. Kind of felt like a fitting capstone for the band. See you all at the Say Anything ...Is A Real Band Again 2022 Tour
M/M ep S/T IARB IDOTG Hebrews Oliver Baseball Anarchy IDTII this is the proper ranking don’t tell anyone different
S/T has some of his best writing so I disagree. Also the ep has the best mix of angsty Max, and sad Max.
Self titled absolutely has some of his best writing but it's suuuper inconsistent. IARB is pretty much filled with his best writing.
Yeah IARB is still top for me but I like all the records. My rankings would change depending on what I've been listening to lately so I'm not going to do it again lol
S/T was a pretty important record for me. It really got me through my first year of high school, which I wasn't even in yet when it came out. I think it has his best songs by far and I love it from start to finish
I wouldn't necessarily disagree with this, and I know it's a common opinion that I respect. My favorite song on that album has always been Mara and Me. Musically, I love it, and lyrically I think it has everything that I love about Max's writing done almost perfectly. I think the last part of Ahhh... Men might be my favorite lyrics he's ever written though. Idk. I just love that album so much haha
...Is a Real Boy In Defense of the Genre Oliver Appropriate Anarchy Say Anything Hebrews Baseball I Don't Think It Is "So Numb" is a good song.
Love some of the songs on S/T, don't love others, but how clean it is actually kind of turns me off to it to this day. And I don't usually get that way about pop-leaning stuff. Just always felt a little sterile to me.
IARB S/T Hebrews Defense Anarchy Baseball Oliver IDTII defense and anarchy are pretty interchangeable for me but I think Defense has some higher highs.
S/T has a few gems but a lot of cringe attempts at pop songs, Anarchy is incredibly forgettable, and I downright don’t like Oliver minus Pink Snot and Daze.
