What can I say I am passionate about the Front Bottoms. They are probably a top 5 artist for me at this point

 

Received my preorder of the vinyl today. I’ll listen tomorrow.

A part of me still feels like Max got shafted with Dine Alone pushing the record back a few months, but at the same time I 100% agree with why they would if he's not going to tour on it/promote it. Plus Dine Alone consistently puts out some bangers and I personally wish I was Canadian so that helps. Anyway. Have a good Thursday everyone!

Nope, it’s been called that since the album info was released awhile back.

 

the front bottoms are like if say anything continued to be good in the 2010s

 

back on top is a modern classic

 

I don't think they're too similar but I haven't listened to much after Talon of the Hawk

 

YMAEWK was a pretty good next album for sounding like SA that wasn't by SA.

we need a thread specifically for people who are confused of the front bottoms/modern baseball sing-talk punk hype. I feel like i'm on the truman show and everyone is messing with me, trying to see if i 'emperor's new clothes' this shit, pretend i like it, and then make fun of me.

 

I hated both bands for a while but I liked the last mobo album and eventually all of the front bottoms stuff grew on me, they’re both two of my gfs favorite bands so I was kind of forced to spend time with them but they’re definitely good

 

The older modern baseball I got kind of bored of but I still like the first half of the last album a lot. Also I like the slaughter Beach dog stuff

 

Like honestly it’s just fun and that’s really all there is too it. The lyrics can be absurd and it’s all a little goofy, but there’s also nothing like being able to shout along to every word at a Front Bottoms concert, and there’s always enough heart in the music that it never feels like a joke and is still emotionally cathartic.

 

I don't really know anything about Modern Baseball, should I check them out if I like Say Anything and Front Bottoms?

Yes. For me at this point, American Art > IARB, no question.

I didn’t get Modern Baseball until I saw them live, opening for Jeff Rosenstock. They clicked reeeal hard for me then.
