An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

"Ew Jersey" is really damn good

On the track "Your Father" it honestly doesn't sound like Max singing. I don't think I've heard him ever sing like that if it is him.

Sherri is always a great addition to SA songs.

Regarding my tweet to Max that was posted above, I know a lot of artists don't care about leaks, but I just thought it was worth mentioning since a lot of people pre-ordered bundles along with the album and those still won't be fulfilled until January. I feel like it might be a good move to at least release the official digital album now

Sounds like it's been pretty messy between the label and Max if he just doesn't care. Probably wanted to release another drop album and the label wanted steady release this time. No idea.

I think Captive Audience is my favorite here... I don't hate it but don't care too much for this either... IDK I want to like it more but it's just not that interesting.

I am absolutely shocked at how much I like this album. I’m still very conflicted about the concept, and about some of the iffy things surrounding Max lately, but I genuinely think this is my favorite Say Anything album since at least the self-titled.

I feel similarly although I don't like it as much as Hebrews yet. I love that album a lot though.

There’s a lot of good on here after one listen

The final 3 tracks are very strong

The guy who doesn’t sound like Max is quite obviously not Max

I liked Hebrews quite a bit when it came out but it hasn’t quite held up as well as I’d hoped over time, personally. Still like a fair amount of things about it though.

Makes sense that this happened because this album originally had a release date in October - I remember having it written down in my calendar on my website and was surprised to see that it was pushed back until January and had to adjust my dates. Don't get why the label would send them out three months in advance and add to the confusion. Feel bad for Max.

Given that Max doesn't seem to care that this is out there, I'll be listening tonight after work!

I feel way worse for the label than I do for Max. They took the financial hit signing him under the expectation that he'd go on tour to promote the record - that's how it works. And then for Max, relatively soon before the release - decides to quit touring I'm sure the label took a hit. I mean, I'm all for taking care of your mental health and all, but I'm on the labels side on this one.

Also Max's *alleged* questionable past with women is disheartening. Also his whole Kickstarter thing just pisses me off. Whatever, I digress. Gonna go buy some Dine Alone merch now.

Dine Alone rules. If you're going to buy stuff from them I also reccommend the new Dirty Nil album, Pkew Pkew Pkew EP and The Flatliners EP

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll probably pick up the new Tokyo Police Club album too. I know I'm in the minority in these parts, but I love it.

Yeah, no matter how many arguments I see defending it, his Kickstarter thing is kinda fucked, in my opinion.

It does seem like dine alone would take a hit here and he definitely doesn't give a shit about this whole rollout.

Why do bands/labels usually seem to ignore leaks or pretend they didn’t happen? Like what is so hard with just digitally releasing the album, especially in this case? There’s no way they’re gonna keep to January release date right?

My guess is they "surprise" drop it and put it on streaming either tomorrow or next Friday

Yeah, I never understood this either. I get it with vinyl and what not, sure, but for digital? Just release it to recoup some of the loss. Plus it might make some people order the vinyl too if they dig the record.

That's what they should do if they're smart.

I haven't liked anything since their self titled album, is she on any songs before that?

Don't think so, sure Cemetery was the first song.

EDIT: She was on the Interlude for the Two Tongues record. Can't remember which came first.
