JK, I just finished listening to the album and I'm having a lot of emotions rn. My first impression of it is very positive, although I do want to spend more time listening to lyrics knowing the synopsis and hearing others' thoughts on how it's portrayed. That being said, it feels like a bookend to this band in a very interesting way.
Wait so what is this link that was posted? You can buy it like officially? Like the album is released?
So this online store didn't get the memo that the album was actually going to be released in January? This is why you don't delay an album that's been sitting around for months like a big popstar with a huge campaign ahead of it. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
So far this is musically less self-indulgent than the past few releases which is refreshing I guess. Feels almost like I'm hearing the follow up to Anarchy My Dear that I expected in 2014. Have to say that I'm gonna wait for the full lyrics to be out there so I can look back on the concept, the surrounding memos, and see how it colors my view on the album afterwards.
I need to listen more but I like it. There's not anything here that sounds bad but I get when people say some sound like they are from song shop. Pink snot and Daze are definitely the catchiest
The cynical in me is side eyeing the production choices while looking at the amount of money amassed over the kickstarters, but what do I know
First impression is that this sounds like a bunch of half-finished demos. Some of the lyrics are really on the nose in away that makes me cringe. Maybe this is unfair but it doesn’t sound like a lot of time was spent on it. The last few albums might not have been everyone’s cup of tea but they didn’t feel that way to me. I feel like I’m being harsh but but my feelings really aren’t as strong as they sound here, haha.
On the sixth song right now and this is the first time I've had any enjoyment from anything Max for what feels like a decade. Man I used to love Say Anything and then they just went to shit. Hope this album continues to grow on me.
okay, listened to the whole thing, and while it's better than the last few, I don't think I'll be listening to it much more. I honestly don't like hearing Sherri on Say Anything even though I'm a fan of Eisley.
So was it put available for download accidentally and then they just gave up and left it as is? That's crazy
