I need to revisit it. I’m so eh on a lot of it, but there’s some good ideas. The mix, and production tho are soooooo off putting.

Yes! It's a fantastic outro to the album. I remember letlive.'s Blackest Beautiful having the same production problem and it brought down an otherwise great album.

I can see why people wouldn't like it but I think it's a good ending to the album. I'm surprised at the liking for some albums. I remember when self titled came out and people shat on it so much.

Most people have been stuck on IARB and I can say I'm one. Always looking for the next and that's so much pressure for Max. I've enjoyed each album for different reasons and happy that I've been an avid fan for so long and to be able to call Max my favourite artist.

I like my Say Anything melodic, sarcastic and corny. When it loses one of those, it's not as good. I really enjoyed Max's Daze acoustic version and how he sung it and I really disliked how it sounded recorded when he says "Daaazee" and kind of growls/shouts. I just don't like it. It's just taxing on my ears to me the way he sounds. I hope the rest of the album just has more softer stuff vocally. I obviously hated IDTII. 17 Coked Up was fun. The production was the worst thing ever. I don't think Max is even capable of producing things like IARB but I'd love some IDOTG and Self-Titled type stuff.

That’s weird. Apple Music supports importing music from your iTunes library, and IDOTG should entirely work for ya.

I love IDTII in every way. It’s weird as hell, but it’s got some very very good songs. The production doesn’t bother me, but it’s jarring when any of those songs pop up in a shuffle, haha.

  9. Listening to I Don’t Think It Is for the first time since the month it dropped. Yeah this album is god damn terrible. The production is obviously awful and not really lo-fi in the way Museum Mouth and Teen Suicide were at the time. The vocal takes are awful. A looooot of the lyrics are awful. And the songs never really come together within themselves or on the album as a whole. There’s no clear vision or thesis like there is on Hebrews or (for the most part) Anarchy, My Dear. There are some cool guitar parts and melodies here and there but none of these songs are good and I’d pretty easily rank it at the bottom of the discography. Really glad Daze sounds nothing like this.

I'm just wondering why Max would go to a new record label if he was only going to release one album on it (unless future projects are planned to be released through that label). Maybe the decision was unmade until the deal had been done, just curious about that.

From the sounds of things, this decision was made very recently, relatively speaking. I mean, tour dates with Senses Fail even popped up and disappeared within the last month or so, iirc.

Oh wow. Wasn't aware of that. I've been too caught up in my own life to keep track of any tour dates for bands this past year or so.

Selfishly would have loved a farewell tour but we don't even get normal tours here in the UK

If you go back and read the announcement from a few months ago when Say Anything signed to Dine Alone, it seemed like the future of the band was looking bright.

The end of the band was probably percolating in his head for a good long time, but he was trying to keep it going anyways. I’m glad he came clean and told everyone what he was thinking instead of just pleasing the fans.

I’m just so grateful I caught them on the anniversary tour in Nov. They were so good too.

Anyone know of any SA artwork going round? For nostalgic purposes.

Does anyone remember that before the self-titled album was announced there was an album called This Is Forever announced? I assume it eventually became the self-titled album. I think it even had artwork.

I can't recall artwork but I'm sure it was the working title for Self Titled.

Yeah that was definitely the working title

Wild speculation: the label is kinda pissed about the “breakup” so they pushed the album to the worst possible release month, allowing room for some other releases for them in the fall. (Should prolly look up their roster)

  21. I've never seen these old self-titled era MySpace sessions but they're so good. The band uniforms are great lol

Shit, I remember those. Max was trying to do the whole "everyone in the band is the same" and it just looked weird.

I wish Sherri was there for this performance. The song is great with or without her but she adds so much to it IMO.

I dunno, I think it looks kinda cool.
