I randomly put “The Band The Used” on around my wife and she assumed it was someone doing a parody of Say Anything. We gawked at it for a couple of minutes, and then we realized there was still eight minutes left. Incredible (derogatory).

Is there a single good song on this thing? Even the bad albums at least have 1 song worth listening to

I genuinely cannot get through a full song on this. It sucks because on paper this, in some alternate timeline, could sound sort of interesting but it's just devoid of any actual substance and feels so superficial and thrown together. That, and the fact that I can't really listen to Max anymore without feeling like I need to take a shower

*106 minutes actually. Wouldn’t want you to miss out on even a second of this

Is Committed has around 10 minutes of pretty good say anything music on there. The new has maybe 30 seconds

Extract Max's vocals from the album and sonically it's interesting

  16. 4 songs in and I'm already struggling... why is he screaming so MUCH

FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

I gave like 20 seconds of 5 different songs a try when they were all out, genuinely couldn't do any more than that. It's unlistenable

It is absolutely mind numbing to me that this was actually released and that this band is on a tour in 2026

  19. I actually liked No Man with its noisy/mathy vibe. Honestly I saw the vision anytime he went for that vibe but it's like he intentionally decided to execute it in the most hostile way possible to make a point or something. Hostile is also the word that comes to mind to describe the whole thing by the way. There are glimpses of old Say Anything but it's hard to tell because It's mixed like shit and Max sounds like shit all along as he can't resist screaming nonsense all over it. It feels like a shitpost in album form.

Maybe Max misunderstood the concept of a shitpost?

I’m not putting more effort into my post than Max put into this album.

Say Anything's new album wasn't on Paste's worst albums of the year list.

Guess they didn't listen to it.

Max is in the studio with Nathan from Wavves and Aaron Rubin

a sentence I would be a lot more excited about before these last two Say Anything albums
