Not sure I've seen anyone fall off a cliff so hard, like damn.

It legitimately frustrates me so much. Wish he would go away and save what little dignity he has left

He has zero dignity left. I just want him to stop trying to interfere with my love of the first 3 records. He’s making it too hard to ignore him.

    I know you're strong.

I’d love to know where everyone’s falling off point was with Say Anything, and if it’s similar to mine.

I feel like everything up to and including Hebrews was relatively okay. S/T and Anarchy, My Dear were a bit patchy, but had some pretty great moments, and Hebrews had potential, as well as some fun ideas.

Nothing comes close to …Is A Real Boy/IDOTG, but I think the fan base gave up on the idea of anything of that quality a long time ago.

Everything after Hebrews has been pretty unlistenable in my book. Are there at least any tracks from the more recent albums that people would recommend?

…but, man, this new EP is just beyond bad, in my book. I hope Max is okay and happy, at least.

I don't think there is a worse album than Hebrews. Maybe the most unpleasant listening experience I have ever had. Having said that, I was officially off the bandwagon after S/T.

I fell off on the most recent one. IDTII took a while, but at least half that record eventually grew on me. I really liked Oliver. But his antics, and the record released, since Oliver has just been too much man.

Agreed. I don't think any other band has evolved so poorly that it's actually sucked any enjoyment i previously had out of their older material. What an embarrassment.

Jumped off after “Hebrews.” A truly unpleasant listen. The faux humility of “Lost My Touch” is almost funny now.

That Oliver one wasn't so bad musically, but I was already out on him as a human at that point, I never really listened to it much

scalding hot take incoming: anarchy is still their worst album

even hotter take - none of the albums are legitimately good except IARB and even that one is not something I'd throw on at this time in my life

IARB is the only good album in full. The double album easily can be cut back to one disc and there's a nice single album between the best tracks of Anarchy and s/t

Yeah IARB is the only good album. There are maybe 10 good songs on the double album. Everything after is really bad. I have no desire to listen to any of his music in 2025 though.

Had everything up to Hebrews, hates IDTII, listened to everything since once and hated them, and now that I'm disgusted by who Max has become, all albums are deleted from my library

The irony of Say Anything having an album called In Defense Of The Genre is that they have become the biggest argument against it.
