I’m totally on board to hear Brian on Say Anything songs. Weatherbox is one of my favorites and wish that project was still going on outside the few shows they do from time to time. It feels like a step down for him and Fred to do this but I hope it brings them both some well deserved respect and moolah.
Gleaned this thread and both Fred from TBS and Brian from Weatherbox are on this?! I don't know what the deal is with everyone and Max or understand why anyone would want to read a press release about Say Anything but I'm looking forward to this now.
hell yeah. that was a mess of an essay but man, color me pumped. is a real boy is a damn near masterpiece and was super formative for me growing up. i thought say anything was done. stoked to see what max has up his sleeve.
Adding Brian and Fred to the mix actually intrigues me, especially if they contributed at all to the writing/recording.
I am glad I read the whole thing to find the bit about Brian :) I could imagine that it's probably a good fit since every time I saw the 'box they had a completely different lineup
Soooooo.... is this in any way a fullfillment for the Kickstarter him and his wife did? lol. So many red flags there and here. Will I check this out? sure yeah. But man does he need help.
You know, it's been a few years and I honestly forget most of the details. My comment was about 51% a joke 49% actual confusion. But basically, if I remember correctly, they launched a Kickstarter where the totally open how the money was going to fund buying them a home so they could have a home base for writing music. It was really odd. Especially considering it was during a time where Patreon was blowing up. They were asking for an obscene amount of money on Kickstarter that wasn't guaranteed but with Patreon it would have been a recurring monthly "revenue" and not out of line, totally. Idk. Like I said it was a few years ago and very very odd. EDIT: Had to go back and find the KS. I was off on the whole house thing (like I said, it's been a few years lol) but the rewards were incredible cringy and involved their young kids and other oddities. And the 4 albums, at least as originally presented, never materialized as far as I can tell https://www.kickstarter.com/project...-family-release-4-free-bemis-family?ref=email
Max is and always has been a weird fucking dude, no doubt about that. That being said, I'll give any Say Anything stuff a shot.
Jesus fucking Christ that’s a word salad of nothing. I still don’t understand why Max has retconned the early records as being about a ‘character’. But, I’m at least intrigued by the new members and potential they bring to the table. IDOTG is one of my favorite records of all time, and anything that brings them back to that massive sound would make me real happy.
Oh, those were innocent times compared to the amount of grifting Max & Sherri have consistently done since Nevermind, I'm mixing that up with another kickstarter that involved touring. I think it was from Eisley instead. But... yeah
my buddy and i talked to chad nfg for twenty minutes when they came through on the sticks and stones 10 year anniversary tour about max being max haha basically chad wrote songs about max's now wife but chads former fiancé in his whats eating gilbert project and max called chad out publicly about it and fans were wtf m8 and chad was like he could've texted me about it, he has my #, but he always goes the dramatic route and then it's not fair to our fans cause some fans then feel they have to pick a side blah blah and i was like yah max is a weenie boy and he laughed
You guys, the name of the band is SAY ANYTHING…so what we have here is a case of living up to that promise. With that said, I truly love Eisley and some of Say Anything and just hope things are going well with these folks.
i don't, they are horrible people who beg for more money from their fans than jonny craig sold "macbooks"
Max will always be Max and that’s ultimately what I love about him as an artist. I’ve not -loved- everything over the years at first, but I’m usually won over after giving it a shot. He’s a unique, interesting writer all around and I’ll give Psyche! a shot even though I’ll admit I wasn’t necessarily psyched to see SA’s quicker-than-expected return lol.
this is spot on. and also, Parker of beautiful jamisonparker fame, which is an album that to this day i still adore.
