Ok this was a blast and I love this series but 84 or whatever on RT is hilarious and that’s coming from a sicko who loves these.
Yeah loved this. It’s fun to enjoy one of these movies without it being for purely batshit crazy reasons. It’s still batshit but in a much more tolerable way.
Yeah insane movie but I loved every second of it. Loved how involved John/Amanda were the whole time, as opposed to most of these where they are faceless voices behind the games. Our theater’s projector broke like 30 minutes in so it built a lot of suspense for whether the surgery worked lol. We had to wait about 20 minutes while they rebooted everything and the whole theater started talking about how we thought it was going to go wrong, it was very fun. And they gave us free vouchers for another movie so hey it worked out.
Loved this! Def wasn’t expecting a Saw movie to make me emotional. And giving Amanda a Josh Hartnett in The Faculty/Halloween:H20 haircut was a choice.
Here’s my pitch for the final Saw. It goes meta. Tobin Bell is suffering from dementia and fully believes he is now Jigsaw. He’s gone around putting people in traps.
Trying to picture a version of this that isn't insulting to people legitimately suffering from dementia.
Just got out of this. I’ve only seen Saw 1, 2, 4 and 7. Wasn’t a big fan of those, but the reviews for this one got my curiosity. The first 35 minutes or so I liked. Until the twist about the “organization”. Then it turned into a movie I didn’t have anyone to root for and the same sadistic stuff the other films are known for. I get it works for others but I didn’t enjoy it that much.
Damn, this was so good lol I mean the bar is low for these movies but it's the best one yet and it isn't particularly close. Feels like someone took the DNA from Saw II and transplanted it into a genuinely good movie. The first 45 minutes of exposition with Tobin Bell is so good. Traps were brutal. The twist felt very Scream.
I’ll probably go see this then. Saw 1 is a classic and I’ve only seen that and part 2. I don’t have the time to watch all the sequels haha
Yep. I've only seen Saw I and Saw II so this made perfect sense. There's a credits scene that features someone from the other sequels but it worked fine anyways.
Anyway, I quite enjoyed this. Figured it was going to be a con/organized thing fairly quick, but was surprised by and enjoyed how long they spent building it up and to everything. The flashbacks to what happened like five minutes earlier were great, lol. Also seeing people mention how they can’t sympathize with Kramer and Amanda (of course), but I like how they played with that; loved and was hyped for the last 20 minutes. Tobin and Synnove were genuinely great too. Might actually need to see this in the theater again more I think about it.
I was loving this up until the final third which kind of disappointed me with how everything played out. Still really liked it overall.
Hell yeah. I do think the Stolbergs are part of what made me enjoy Spiral and this so much, but the franchise is on a good path and I have faith.
