I’m sure it’ll come this week if not today. i still haven’t listened to std since before the stories came out. Don’t know when I’ll listen to this record. Also, I wanted to point out some disappointment in the other band members for not making any sorta statement, especially considering that they often “woke” post.
mine has a brutal skip right after anywhere with you kicks in :/ also these guys have been replaced by Andrew WK on the Coheed cruise
but why would I want to own a record that I’ll never listen to and that only brings me pain to look at? It’s not about “hurting” the label, none of this is their fault, it’s about not wasting my money.
And that's a perfectly fine choice for you to make. For me, I don't see it as "wasting" my money since I am supporting a label I like and, as you said, is not at fault here. They're suffering collateral damage from the shitty actions of some other person and if I can help alleviate a little bit of that for them, at least that's a little good to come out of this.
If you feel that way that's completely fine, just trying to reiterate that cancelling the order to others isn't taking money out of the bands pocket Basically cancelling if someone cancels their order as a "fuck you" to the band it isn't the case
I’m just saying it’s not as cut and dry of a situation as “you’re only hurting the label”. I cancelled my order to avoid hurting myself and my own mental and emotional health. Just a thought I felt needed to be said.
Mine arrived yesterday, and I was planning on selling it. But there was a huge bend on the corner of the mailer. So there's a big dent in the spine, and the record is warped. Going to be tougher to sell now.
That sounds like shit. But honestly, shouldn't you be able to send the record back considering what shoddy shape it showed up in?
Sure seems that way. Although they were already running out of gas. No word from Arun or Rodrigo on whether or not they still plan on being in the band (highly doubt it).
Although I was still listening and actively attending shows, it was pretty clear that this project/band was in its death throes in the Self-Titled > 29 period in terms of enthusiasm outside of the most hardcore and day one enthusiasts. I think to @AWasteOfATime's point about a long siesta, a lot of the most dedicated Saves The Day might not care about allegations and the more casual fans may not know about them (or care either, sadly). I guess a comeback is always possible in the distant future but I'm not sure I see it.
This album helped me through a lot at a very important time in my life. Will be giving it a spin tonight. Can’t believe it’s already 10 years old!
Man, Chris may be a trashbag, but I am so thankful for all the other members of Saves The Day that gave me great music that got me through some tough times.
