been a fan of STD for almost 20 years and this may be the first time I've ever heard anything super negative about Chris, so this is pretty alarming and sad. he doesn't seem well. fuck.
Chris' social media personality has been troubling for some time, but this is an entire different level of alarming and SO bad. Very bad.
Asking sincerely, because I can't remember: has Chris ever made some sort of statement about very public past meltdowns? Have the people around him forced him to seek help or treatment?
He apologized after the Where’s the Band incident, no idea about the Chicago one. Afaik the only time band members asked him to get help was after In Reverie into Sound the Alarm era.
I hope the victims are in a space of healing if they have not yet already. And I also hope they’re safe, physically and mentally, especially after putting this out there to the public.
Chris seriously needs professional help ASAP, the way he talks in those messages, his admittance of alcoholism, the emotional extremes, he needs help right now. I feel terrible for that guy, so fucked up, he does not deserve any of that, at all, I really hope he can find peace eventually and I am glad he has brought the situation to light.
Agreed. Though the bulk of those messages were to/from a queer man (first slide). However there is mention of him being sketchy with women. Not that gender/sex/orientation/identity matter.
Don't really know what to say other than that this is a really sad situation and I hope the victim(s) can find some peace.
Based on Rodrigo's tweet I think there will be new members if Chris doesn't call it quits with the band.
