He talks about that album pretty in depth on a recent podcast with Toby Morse from H20. Podcast is called “one life one chance”
Yeah that podcast episode was an awesome listen highly recommend it. Heard a lot of Saves stories I didn't hear before
Listening to TBC, SWYA and IR while hanging Christmas lights yesterday. What are the odds we get a stay what you are reissue next year for its 20th? I was going to buy a copy online but I may wait if it’s going to get reissued. Also give me in reverie on vinyl ASAP
definitely *was* a SWYA anniversary tour in the cards for next year but now I doubt it. I would expect to see it get a similar treatment to Through Being Cool, likely. I know that Can't Slow Down is getting repressed currently. In Reverie who tf knows.
9 sucks so bad y'all. I can't believe people are defending that record. The vocals are just another level of terrible. Nothing about it works, including the 30 minute "song" Love this band, love everything through IR and I will defend Under the Boards and self-titled to death, but yikes. 9 is unlistenable.
Saves the Day / Chris has been writing lame and cheesy lyrics since Cant Slow Down and I’ll always be here for it! Edit: And I love 9.
I agree, it’s essentially Chris Conley’s whole story as an individual and a musician. It’s upbeat, full of optimism, despair, sadness,, heartbreak, acceptance, etc. It may not be everyone’s favorite sound, but Chris sings his heart out on the track. And if you’ve been following Saves The Day for a long time and have experienced all of those feelings Chris is expressing in the song you’ll definitely love it and consider it a favorite track by them, IMO.
