Funny story, in case you didn't know, "Bye Bye Baby" was written during the In Reverie session but didn't fit the CD so he redid it for Under The Boards. It's no surprise you like that song haha.
I don’t know about y’all, but I’d love to see StD do a “past lives” series of shows like Alkaline Trio did a few years ago. And also like Less Than Jake and Motion City Soundtrack have done. I’d probably go to every one except for CSD and TBC (don’t hate me).
I've been fantasizing about that for years if they did it similar to Alk3 it'd be Night 1: STD/CSD Night 2: Daybreak / TBC Night 3: UTB / SWYA Night 4: STA / IR All of which would be great
Good point about his parents guys. Also, I do remember that there was a song that was apparently recorded for Stay What You Are titled "For Erminie" which apparently despite not being released in that version ended up being turned into what became the song "Monkey" on In Reverie. Oh yeah, I sure knew it, haha! I actually saw them (the Chris, Dave, Eben, Pete lineup) play it in 2004 on the tour with Grandaddy. They also played another new song called "Zebra" which I've mentioned on here. Obviously it never has gotten released, and it's been driving me nuts for years, as not even a live recording of it has showed up. For whatever reason, Chris has seemed to bury that one. I wish other people would help a brother out and help convince Chris (maybe via Twitter!?) to finally release it on the next album! Unless of course what was "Zebra" actually ended up being something on Sound The Alarm. As it's been so long, I can't really remember the song all that well, but I suppose that maybe "Delusional" may have been a sped up version of it. Who knows?
I wish I could Being John Malkovich you and time travel to that show in 2004. I still would kill for the original Daybreak recordings with Manny and Durijah. I love what they contributed to UtB and I feel like a lot of Daybreak tracks could be really interesting.
i'd have fun at a CSD show even though it's my least favorite. a couple years ago Chris mentioned doing a deluxe IR with Zebra and Sister Sophia as bonus tracks but it never happened. I think that means recordings must exist? i want to hear them. Coconut, Don't Go Outside, and Blossom are all great
He's mentioned multiple times for years that he was going to release a deluxe In Reverie, but nothing comes from it. Doubt it will ever happen.
seriously. i still have a og Vinyl copy of In Reverie that's one of my most prized possessions (i think someone from AP actually helped me get it!) i'd kill for a repress and also one of Can't Slow Down; it's the 20th fucking anniversary of that album this month!!
I've always wondered why the b-sides album has that cover art. It's a waving American flag, but black and white. Was there any purpose for it?
Wild that I’ll be seeing Saves the Day, Justin Pierre, and Say Anything within a 4 day period. Especially because it’s the four days after Halloween, considering the first time I saw any of them was together on Halloween 2010. (That’s assuming and hoping these are real.)
I think they're legit. Someone in the Tour Speculation thread posted a screenshot of the Soundrink Sitemap and those dates were listed. At least that's my wishful thinking. The sitemap link has since been disabled.
It's the main ticketing company that a lot of bands are moving to. Get Up Kids, Manchester Orchestra, Alkaline Trio, State Champs, Thrice, etc etc etc
A lot of times soundrink is used for presales. Ticketmaster has to do with the venue not specific bands. Like for The Front Bottoms tour this summer I bought tix from Soundrink in the presale but then general sale was through livenation/Ticketmaster
